New investigator named in Red Bay

RED BAY- The Red Bay City Council voted to hire long-time Franklin County DARE Officer Lt. Mike Franklin as the city's new investigator.
Franklin has been the DARE officer in Franklin County for more than 10 years, and has worked with all the county's schools during his time as the DARE officer.
"We hope Mike will be able to start in about two weeks," Police Chief Janna Jackson said. "I know he's got some lose ends to tie up before joining our department."
As for the county's DARE program, it is not known what route the sheriff's department will take after losing Franklin to Red Bay.

The Red Bay City Council is soliciting contractor's bids for the ADECA Project #AL-LI-09-060 multi-purpose pavilion to be built at the Red Bay Fund Park until November 6, 2009, 4:00 p.m.
The Red Bay City Council will meet in a called meeting, Monday, November 9, 2009, 1:00 p.m. in the Red Bay City Hall Council Room, 203 4th Ave. S.E., Red Bay, AL for the purpose of opening bids and awarding to the lowest qualified bidder the contract to build the multi-purpose pavilion.
Sealed bids will be received until November 12, 2009, 4:00 p.m., for (1) 1991 Chevrolet Corsica seized in a drug related arrest.
