Tigers look to make noise in region finale

RED BAY – Red Bay's hopes of hosting a first-round playoff game came to an end last Friday when the Tigers fell to Clements, but they are still looking to build momentum as they head into the playoffs.
Red Bay plays its final region game of the season Friday when it travels to tenth-ranked Lexington to take on the Region 8 champions.
"It's a big game," Red Bay coach Dale Jeffreys said. "They have a lot of players back."
Lexington (7-1, 6-0) has cruised through the region schedule and has scored an average of 32 points per game while allowing only 14.4 points.
Red Bay started strong by winning four straight region games, but has lost its last two. The 21-7 loss to Tanner and the 21-8 loss to Clements were much closer than the final scores indicate.
The Tigers have played well against the top teams in Region 8 and have a good chance of upsetting Lexington.
Red Bay has had injury problems all season. The Tigers lost their starting quarterback during fall practice then lost the top tailback during the second week of the season.
Last week Chase Lindsey, one of the Tigers top rushers and the team's best kicker, missed the game with a foot injury. It is unsure if he will return for Friday's game.
Should the Tigers beat the Bears, it would give Red Bay a spark as it prepares for its road playoff game in two weeks.
Lexington is looking to remain perfect in region play as it prepares for its playoff game.
Friday's game against Lexington begins at 7 p.m.
