With decreasing tax revenue, the city has its own share of problems. But, council members are looking for a way to help. It may not be a quick or easy fix, but something must be done.
A sales tax increase is one option being discussed and something that may be unavoidable in the future. However, city residents should be made aware before any move like that is made.
This is a city issue that all residents would bear the burden of. A decision like this should not just be dropped on those paying the taxes.
