Former UA star Stacy to visit county

Siran Stacy's life has taken many turns since his days as a football star at the University of Alabama.
Once known for his speed and elusiveness on the football field, Stacy is now looked to for a much different reason.
He has a story to tell.
It's not about his days as a star for the Crimson Tide or his much traveled road through the different ranks of professional football.
It's a story about family and perseverance.
Stacy, 40, was driving his family home from his mother's house when a drunk driver crossed an intersection and struck his car on Nov. 19, 2007, near Dothan.
Four of Stacy's five children and his wife were killed in the accident.
The accident also claimed the life of the other car's driver, 29 year-old Adam Wayman. Wayman was traveling at a high rate of speed on the wrong side of the highway when he collided with Stacy's mini van as he pulled away from a red light.
A year and a half later, Stacy shares his story with anyone who will listen. He believes it's a testimony that he's supposed to give.
He will be sharing his story on May 23 at the Arts and Entertainment Center in Red Bay.
Stacy and several former teammates will be taking part in a fundraiser sponsored by Inside Alabama High School Football. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 each.
