Rickey Dewayne Trapp

Rickey Dewayne Trapp, 49, Phil Campbell, Ala. died Sunday, April 19, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Celia Ann Trapp and brother-in-law, Burton Stanford.
Funeral services were held April 22 at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Stancil officiating. Interment will be in East Franklin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Riley Shelnut, Brad Murphey, Ricky Yocom, Russell Newell, Heath Trapp, Michael Cason and Mike Hardy (honorary).
He leaves to cherish his memory, children, Patrick Trapp and wife, Heather, Matthew Trapp and wife, Ashley, Cody Trapp, Candace Trapp; parents Rayan and Christine Trapp; sisters, Mary Stanford, Shannon Boyles and husband, Jamie, Christy Trapp Sanders; grandchildren, Lillie Trapp, Lexi Jones, and John Ethan Trapp.
Rickey worked 30 years as a Millwright and was a member of Millwright Local 1192. He loved fixing old cars, riding his motorcycle, watching NASCAR and boxing. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
Our family extends our gratitude to Dr. Jeffrey Long and nursing staff at Lakeland Community Hospital and the staff at Northwest Alabama Cancer Treatment Center for all their kindness and support shown to our dad and his family.

Thomas E. Hill, 49, of Cottondale, Ala., formerly of North Bergen, N.J., passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2009.
He served honorably as a military policeman in the U.S. Army from 1977-1980. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring to Alabama.
The funeral service will be Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
He is survived by his mother Jo E. Hill, of Fort Lee, N.J.; sister, JoAnn Katsogiannos, of Fort Lee, N.J.; brother, Vinnie Cervellieri, of Barnegat, N.J.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
William D. Rollins

William David Rollins, 50, of Spruce Pine, died Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Enloe Hospital in Chico, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Oscar Rollins; sister, Deborah Rollins; nephew, Kristopher Kyle Lacey.
Funeral services were Friday, April 24, 2009, at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Lawler officiating. Entombment was in Franklin Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers were Kevin Lacey, Stephen Lacey, Charlie Keeton, David Carpenter, Tommy Bearden, Matthew Duncan and James Leindecker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Debra Moore Rollins; daughters, Jennifer Leindecker, LaChea Mayes; sons, Jason Rollins, Curtis; stepdaughter, Karen Woods; mother, Dorothy Rollins; sister, Lynda Carpenter; brothers, Joshua Rollins, Andrew Rollins; 7 grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.

Gresham Jr. Pierce, 82, of Russellville, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital.
He is preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Pierce; parents, Jessie Willard Pierce and Lily Mae Chambers Pierce; brothers, Boyce Pierce, James Pierce; sister, Emma Pierce Bray; brothers-in-law, William Bray, Marvin Wilson, Tommy Ray Mansell.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Akins Funeral Home with Bro. William Bonee officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Justin Pierce, Greg Pierce, Chuck Brandenburg, Eddie Wilson, Mike Wilson, Shannon Pierce, Justin Fisher, Clay Pierce and Dalton Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Dison, Chris Pierce, Quentin Dunett, Ryan Wilson, and Alan Dison.
He leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Mescal Roden Kuykendall; daughter, Pat Butler; sons, Kenneth Pierce and wife Betty Joy, Terry Pierce and wife Lee, Larry Pierce and wife Betty Jean; daughter-in-law, Dianne Pierce; sisters, Betty Pierce Wilson, Elizabeth Pierce McDougle and husband Obie, Joyce Ann Pierce Mansell; grandchildren, Eddie Wilson and wife Deb, Kisha Wilson Dison and husband Alan, Michael Bud Wilson and wife Jennifer, Angela Pierce Brandenburg and husband Chuck, Greg Pierce and wife Allison, Ginger Pierce Reynolds and husband Mitch, Chris Pierce and wife Missy, Stephen Bond, Josh Pierce and wife, Ashley Pierce Fisher and husband Justin, Shannon Pierce, Justin Pierce, Tiffany Pierce Lewis and husband Bobby, Danielle Pierce and husband Clay, Faith Pierce Scott and husband Matt; 29 great grandchildren; 8 nieces and 7 nephews.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of Russellville.

Olen Reed Jackson, 81, of Phil Campbell, died Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Russellville Hospital.
Mr. Jackson was a native of Winston County, and had lived in Franklin County for the past 19 years. He was a member of Arley Baptist Church and a retired machinist.
The funeral service was Thursday, April 23, 2009, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville, with burial in Phil Campbell Cemetery. Officiating was Jerry Pounders.
He is survived by one brother, Harvey Jackson, Live Oak, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Jackson and Jennie Jackson Baird; brothers, Henry J. Jackson and Milton Jackson; sister, Doris Gaines.
Brenda J. Madden

Brenda Jane Madden, 58, of Jackson, South Carolina, died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at University Hospital, Augusta, Georgia.
Mrs. Madden was a native of Franklin County and had lived in Jackson, South Carolina for the past 22 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
The graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 2:00 P.M., at Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Russellville, with Morris Barnett officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Madden, Jackson; sons, Brad Barnett, California, Michael Madden, Jackson, and Billy Madden, Jackson; brother, Morris Barnett, North Carolina; sister, Joyce Ralph, California; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Grady Barnett and Frances Sockwell.
Beatrice A. Hicks

Beatrice Ashley Hicks, 88, of Phil Campbell, passed away April 21, 2009, at her home.
She was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church for 71 years.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 23, 2009, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Dennis Steward and Jeff Moses officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Ashley and Carl Ashley, both of Haleyville; daughters, Louise Frazier and Kathleen Oden, both of Phil Campbell; adopted children, Glenda Goins, of Russellville, and Terry Joe Pinkard, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; stepchildren, Frankie Hicks, Joyce Hamby, and Lois Barton, all of Haleyville; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph William Ashley and Otis Hicks; daughter, Ruth Barnett; step children, Calvin Ashley, Clayton Ashley, Cecil Ashley, Vernell Elkins and Brenda Robinson; three sisters and nine brothers.
