Steven Glenn Vick

Steven Glenn Vick, 41, passed away Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, at his residence in Golden, Miss.
He was born April 5, 1967, in Alabama and was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Red Bay.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating.
He is survived by his parents, M.L. and Peggy Vick of Red Bay; mother, Barbara Hastings of Corinth, Miss.; son, Gavin Glenn Vick of Belmont, Miss.; brothers, Bill Vick and wife Mary of Athens, Tenn., and Michael Vick and wife Melanie of Florence; sister, Angie Stone and husband Michael of Red Bay; grandparents, Jessie Cleveland of Red Bay and Pauline Swindle of Kentwood, La.; nephew, Casey Stone; and nieces, Cassidy Stone, Madolin Vick and Mollie Vick.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Brian Vick, and his grandfather, Harold Cleveland.
Pallbearers were Michael Stone, Casey Stone, Michael Vick, Bill Vick, Sutin Cleveland and Bruce Miller.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Artie Britnell Rogers

Artie Britnell Rogers, 101, of Red Bay, Ala., passed away Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at DCH Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
She was born Jan. 15, 1907, in Mississippi to Washington and Eva Butler Britnell. She was self-employed as an owner and operator of a grocery store in Red Bay and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Red Bay.
Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. David Parker officiating. Burial was in Red Bay City Cemetery.
She is survived by her niece, Janice Miller of Northport, and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brewer Rogers.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Homer Lee Gober

Homer Lee Gober, 88, of Hodges, Ala., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2009, at Red Bay Hospital.
He was born June 12, 1920, in Franklin County, Ala., to Orlando and Kate Thorn Gober. He was a farmer and a member and deacon of Hodges Convention Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 9 at Hodges Convention Baptist Church with Bro. Kent Walker and Bro. David George officiating. Burial was in Old Burleson Cemetery in Vina.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Jeanette Gober of Hodges; children, Gerelene Overton of Vina, Glyne Gober and wife Janet and Steve Gober and wife Betty, all of Hodges; sister, Ruby Bullock of Birmingham; grandchildren, Andy Roberson of Vina, Lane Roberson of Hodges, John Gober of Hodges, Robin Pharr of Gravel Hill, Dana Stidham of Fayette, Briana George of Rienzi, Miss., Jennifer Frederick of Houston, Texas, and Jessica Linam of Nashville, Tenn.; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Topsy Hardin and Madrew Massey; and brothers, Neal Gober and Gene Gober.
Pallbearers were his grandsons and great-nephews, Andy Roberson, Lane Roberson, Tyler Roberson, John Gober, Adam Pharr and Ethan Pharr.
Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay assisted the family.
