A two-vehicle accident on US 43 North Tuesday morning sent three people to an area hospital.
Officials with the Russellville Police Department said that Susan Britnell, of Russellville, who was driving a 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pick-up truck, collided with Julia May, of Florence, shortly after 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Reports indicate that May was traveling north on U.S. 43 in a 2008 Dodge Avenger when the accident took place. Britnell was attempting to cross the highway from Country Hill Drive across, which is located across the highway from Hester Heights subdivision and just north of the Chevron gas station.
Both drivers, and a passenger in May's vehicle, were taken to Russellville Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Officials said that one lane of traffic was temporarily closed in each direction until the scene was cleared.
