Masel Cathleen Cooper Smith
March 31, 2008
Mrs. Masel Cathleen Cooper Smith, age 87 of Roswell, Georgia, formerly of Russellville, died March 31, 2008.
She is survived by daughters, Mrs. Sandra S. Hayes and husband, Wallace of Andover, MA, Paula S. Hovater and husband, Rodney, Roswell, GA; five grand-children and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Sunday, April 13 at 4 p.m.at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville with David Maxson officiating.
Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home
In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to Rustic Youth Camp, 3170 Shady Grove Road, Russellville, AL 35653.
Northside Chapel Funeral Home, Roswell, Georgia will be directing.
Jack Williams
March 28, 2008
Jack Williams, age 79, of Haleyville, died Tuesday, March 25, 2008. He was born December 10, 1928 in Nauvoo, Alabama.
Funeral services were held Friday, March 28, 2008 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Michael Farris officating the service. Burial was in the Winston Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Williams is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Etta Williams; wife, Essie Williams; and sister, June Levera French.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Ellie Cagle
April 3, 2008
Ellie Lee Cagle, age 88, of Haleyville, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Rose Manor. She was born March 10, 1920 in Winston County. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Macedonia Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Steward and Bro. Mike Jones officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Ms. Cagle is survived by children, Joan Arthur of Haleyville, and Rayburn Cagle of Montevallo; sisters, Pearl Brock of Haleyville, and Juanita Hipp of Russellville; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Ms. Cagle was preceded in death by husband, Almos Cagle; parents, Thomas and Avie Knight; and brothers, Ernest Knight and Ralph Knight.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Bob Cason
April 3, 2008
Bob Gwin Case, age 72, of Haleyville, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, 2008 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Mickey Crane officiating. Burial was in the Orange Cemetery.
Mr. Cason is survived by his wife, Margaret Pugh Cason; children, Clay Cason and wife, Charity, Connie Loden and husband, Ronald, and Carol Thomas; sister, Gaynell Kirby; grandchildren, Clay Allen Cason, Destiny Cason, Ron Loden, Kenneth Thomas, and Sandra Bowman; and great-grandchildren, Dalton Bowman, Austin Bowman, Colton Bowman, Keisha Thomas, Layla Thomas and Miles Thomas.
Mr. Cason was preceded in death by parents, John and Maude Bailey Cason; son, Steve Cason; daughter, Sandra Cason; brother, Jack McNutt; and grandchildren, Chris Bridgemon, Amanda Bridgmon and infant Cason twins.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Haleyville assisted the family.
Margie Arthur
April 2, 2008
Margie Dean Arthur, age 85, of Haleyville, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Rose Manor. She was born March 10, 1923 in Petersburg, Tenn. but lived in Halevyille for the last 67 years. She was a member of Ninth Avenue Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 4, 2008 at Ninth Avenue Church of Christ with Andy Kizer officiating the service. Burial was in the Winston Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Arthur is survived by daughter, Carolyn Arthur Dodd of Brilliant; grandchildren, Deanna Cullum and Brett Rawls; great-grandchild, Levi Cullum; sister, Edith Daniel, and sisters-in-law, Martha James and Jackie Arthur.
Ms. Arthur was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Arthur; daughter, Gloria Arthur Rawls; parents, Silas Other and Velna Sowell; sister, Melba McNair and brother, Paul Sowell.
Ford Crosby
April 5, 2008
Ford Steven Crosby, age 53, of Russellville, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 at his residence. He was a native of Florida, but had lived in this area for the past 12 years. He was a member of Crooked Oak Pentecostal Church in Colbert County.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Blue Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Crosby is survived by wife, Mary Jo Crosby of Russellville; stephchildren, Amanda K. Puckett of Haleyville, Angela S. Borden of Tuscumbia, Johnny Puckett, Sr. of Russellville; brothers, William Rodney Calhoun, Sr. of Russellville, Thomas Dean Crosby of Vero Beach, Fla., Charles Eugene Crosby of Russellville, David Earl Prevatt of Illinois; step grandchildren, Josh, Chris, Taylor, Corey Puckett, Jamie Brewer, Tommy Borden and Horace Borden.
Pallbearers for the service included Josh Chris, Johnny Jr., James, Rodney and Danny.
Pinkard Funeral Home of Russellville assisted the family.
