East Franklin yearbook dedicated

The East Franklin Yearbook Staff recently dedicated their yearbook to Shalain Benford, a second grade teacher.
Benford has been a part of East Franklin for most of her life. She attended grades one through nine at East Franklin and graduated from Phil Campbell High School and the University of North Alabama.
She began her teaching career at East Franklin in 1991, teaching third grade. She was transferred to Vina in 1993. She taught kindergarten and first grade at Vina and second grade at Tharptown before returning to East Franklin in March of 1997. She has served as cheerleader sponsor and softball coach. She also began the annual musical program at East Franklin that has been a big success for many years.
Miss Benford is also a 20 year veteran of the Army National Guard who has served on active duty in Saudi, Germany, and Operation Desert Storm.
The school extends a hearty thank you to Ms. Benford for all that she has done for, and meant, to the school.
