Storms cause local damage

High winds and yesterday afternoon's torrential downpour knocked down power lines and caused a property fire yesterday afternoon near Country Hills Subdivision.
The Russellville Fire Department responded to the scene on Pineview Blvd. around 2:30 yesterday afternoon to find that downed lines had set a tree ablaze.
Strong winds blew the sign at Free Will Baptist Church on Highway 43 in Russellville over yesterday afternoon. It also ripped the gutters and metal flashing off the roof and sides of Terrace Manor Nursing Home. Reports of tress down, including trees on vehicles and houses, were scattered throughout the county.
