Tharptown juniors sweep Vina
THARPTOWN – The Tharptown junior teams swept Vina at home Friday night.
The Tharptown junior boys used a 13-5 run in overtime to beat Vina 45-37.
Brian Prince led the Wilcats with 17 points, while Vina's Adam Pharr scored a game-high 19 points.
The Tharptown junior girls won their fourth game this season with a 39-22 win over Vina.
Braeden Sellers led Tharptown with 12 points, while Claudia Townsend scored 10 for the Lady Red Devils.

FCYBO jamboree
January 19
BELGREEN – The Franklin County Youth Basketball Organization will tip off the 2008 season with a jamboree Saturday, January 19.
The games will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the new and old gymnasiums at Belgreen High School, and all 48 teams will play. The FCYBO regular season will start Jan. 26.
Run 2 Cavalry
2-Mile Run/Walk
TUSCUMBIA – The Run 2 Cavalry 2-Mile Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at Calvary Baptist Church beginning at 9 a.m.
The course is flat and fast, and will be certified by race day, and the race will benefit the church's youth group. For more information, contact Josh Aycock at (256) 314-4631 or (256) 415-1326.
