Some memories gone for good

By Staff
The victims of recent storage building thefts reported to the Ralph Bishop Recreation Center to sift through their belongings. The victims went through the small piles of belongings in hopes of finding something that had been taken from them.
Some may feel that the items taken are just things and can be replaced. However, this is not the case with everything. Sentimental items were taken, such as ornaments from deceased relatives and collector items passed down from other generations.
Taking things with sentimental value not hurts the victim in the heart more so than the wallet. That void can never again be filled.
The Russellville Police Department, the Haleyville Police Department, the Red Bay Police Department and the Franklin County Sheriff's Department all had a hand in investigating these thefts. Two arrests have been made and more may be pending thanks to the good work of the investigators with these departments.
We certainly hope if there are more individuals responsible for these thefts they will to be brought to justice. A lot of what they took cannot be replaced.
