Sandra Lee Dooley Rickard

Sandra Lee Dooley Rickard, 30, of Russellville, died Saturday at Shoals Hospital.
Mrs. Rickard was a native of Cherokee and had lived in Russellville for the past eight years. She was a member of Littleville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Dec. 24 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Jackie Shelton and Carl Gaston officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.
She is survived by husband, Bradley Rickard, of Russellville; children, Christopher Rickard and Haley Rickard, of Russellville; parents, James Dooley and Faye Dooley, of Cherokee; sister, Mae Sparks and husband, Jeremy, of Sheffield; mother-in-law and husband, Jane and Mike McGuire, of Russellville.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher James Dooley.
Margaret Louise Potter

Margaret Louise Potter, 86, of Russellville, died Dec. 22 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Potter was a native of Lawrence County and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at Pinkard Funeral Home with Jim Lumpkin officiating. Burial followed in Cherry Hill Cemetery.
She is survived by children, Mavis Snider (Tom) of Pearl, Miss., Carolyn Mitchell (O.D.), of Russellville, Dwane Potter (Lynda), of Russellville, Alice Faye McFarland (Tom), of Auburn, Jo Ann Pounders (Charles), of Spruce Pine, Rita Pennington (Johnny), of Spruce Pine, Jimmy Potter (Lynda), of Phil Campbell, Kathy Blasingame (Ernie), of Tuscumbia, Mike Potter (Ginger), of Haleyville; 35 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Potter; children, Johnnie Marie Potter Alexander, Claudie Leon Potter, Linda Nell Potter Robledo; parents, William McKinley Hallmark and Ida Mae Hallmark.
James Edward Teas

James Edward Teas, 85, of Haleyville, passed away Friday, Dec. 21 at his home. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Haleyville, belonged to the Zamora Shrine, the Haleyville Masonic Lodge No. 464 and the American Legion.
Mr. Teas is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughter, Margo; grandson, Steven James Gray; wife, Stacy; brother, John Teas; sisters, Jean Majors and Jackie Clark.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Teas; son, Steven Teas and brother, Clyde Teas.
Funeral services were held Dec. 24 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Bro. John Simmons officiating. Burial followed in Winston Memorial Mausoleum.
Brenda Gail Orrick

Brenda Gail Orrick, 44, of Phil Campbell, died Dec. 23 at her home.
She was a native of Kentucky but had lived in Franklin County for the past 28 years.
She was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church in Phil Campbell.
Funeral services were held Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at Mountain View with Bro. Sammy Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Richard Agee, Jr. of Russellville, Erica (Isaac) Sanford, of Moulton; father of her children, Richard Agee, Sr., of Chicago; father, James (Jay Marie) Orrick, Sr., of Russellville; mother, Mable (Keith) Knapp, of Illinois; sisters, Glenda (Jerry) Welborn, of Phil Campbell, Valerie Orrick, of Russellville, Barbara (Brandon) McDaniel, of Tuscumbia, Elizabeth Knapp, of Oakbrock, Illinois; brothers, James (Brenda) Orrick, Jr., of Haleyville, Mike Orrick, of Chicago, Brian (Katie) Orrick, of Burridge, Illinois, Steven (Cindy) Orrick, of Russellville; 15 nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Joseph Orrick, Andrew Welborn, Brandon McDaniel, Jamie Simpson, Nicholas Schmittou and Danny Bryant.
Billy H. Hovater

Billy Hershel Hovater, 62, Russellville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. Hovater lived his entire life in Franklin County and was a member of North Highland Church of Christ. He was an army veteran, member of IBEW No. 558 and employed by EG &G at Redstone Arsenal.
Funeral services will be Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at North Highland Church of Christ in Russellville. Officiating will be Keith Barnett and Edmund Cagle.
The body will be placed in the church prior to the service from 1 p.m.. until 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville.
Survivors include wife, Bridget Hovater, Russellville, Alabama; children, Monica Stanley (Jay), Huntsville, Alabama, Kelly Tyra (Noah), Russellville, Alabama, Mikey Hovater, Russellville, Alabama; sisters, Peggy Lang (Emera), Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Linda K. Hovater, Spruce Pine, Alabama, Dawn Wallace (Kirk), Sheffield, Alabama; brothers, Gary Hovater (Shea), Tuscumbia, Alabama, Ricky Hovater ( Sharon), Russellville, Alabama; host of nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by parents, Hershel and Gladys Hovater; brother, Roger Hovater.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary bearers will be Phillip Lang, co-workers of EG&G and his North Highland Church of Christ family.
Thanks to doctors and nurses at Northwest Alabama Cancer Center for their loving care, Dr. Rod McDonald, Dr. David McKinley and Helen Keller Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
Jimmie "Jim" E. West

Jimmie "Jim" E. West, 64, of Red Bay, died Dec. 21 at his home.
He was born March 25, 1943 in Itawamba County, Miss. to Earline and Erma Guntharp West. He was a graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School, class of 1961; Harding University, class of 1966 and an employee for the State of Mississippi from 1968 to 1988.
He was a member of the Red Bay Church of Christ and a minister for 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Myrl West.
Funeral services were held Dec. 23 at Red Bay Church of Christ with Bro. Turner Paseur officiating. Burial followed in Itawamba Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include wife, Fran West; daughters, Chrissy Mourer and husband, Lee, of Batesville, Ark., Amy W. Mitchell and husband, Tim, of Red Bay; son, Jeremy E. West and wife, Kena, of Red Bay; grandchildren, Haley, Wilson, Hunter, Grace, Molly, Bella, Isaiah, Jacl and Will; brother, Carl West and wife, Erma Ray, of Fulton; sister, Christeen Reeves and husband, Doyle, of Fulton; a host of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws,, nieces, nephews, friends and fellow church members.
Pallbearers were Richard West, Freddie Plunkett, Kevin Reeves, Van Roberts, Robby Roberts, Phil Albritton, Dewayne Hellums and Jeff White
Ena Mae Dillard

Ena Mae Dillard, 92, of Red Bay died Dec. 22 at Covington Manor Nursing Home in Covington, Tenn.
She was born Sept. 28, 1915 in Itawamba County to Perva E. and Lela Northam Wilson. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Dillard and her parents.
Funeral services were held Dec. 24 at Deaton Funeral home in Red Bay with Bro. Lynton Younger. Burial followed in Ridge Cemetery.
Survivors include her sons, Fred N. Dillard and wife, Barbara, of Arlington, Tenn. and Roy S. Dillard, of Red Bay; five grandchildren, Kimberly Dillard and Michael Dillard, both of Memphis, Kevin Dillard, of Millington, Tenn, Christopher Roy Dillard of Kenosha, Wisc. And Lori Michele Haldeman of West Plaines, Ill.; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Eunice Wilson, of Red Bay.
Pallbearers were Patrick Mansell, Jason Allison, Mike Dillard, Kevin Dillard and Harold Allen Lintz.
Opal Jane Whitehead Isbell

Opal Jane Whitehead Isbell, age 76, Tuscumbia, AL passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at Russellville Health Care.
The visitation will be 11-2 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 29, 2007. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Steve Nugent and Bro. Ron Bradford will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Hood, Jimmy Hood, Phillip Whitehead, Bryon Graves, and James Isbell.
She is survived by sons, Jerry Wayne Isbell, wife JoDonne- Sheffield, Jimmy Doyle "JD" Isbell, wife Carolyn- Athens; daughter, Janice Taylor, husband Glynn- Spruce Pine; brothers, L.B. Whitehead, J.L. Whitehead, M.R. Whitehead, and James Harold Whitehead; sisters, Magdelene Hood, and Hazel Moxley; grandchildren, Jo Ellen Graves, husband Bryon, James Isbell, Virginia Isbell, Emily Taylor, Paul Taylor, Angie Bogus, husband Jason, and John Isbell, Jr.; great grandchildren, Cheyenne Jones and Jake Graves; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, James Edward Isbell; son, John Allan Isbell, Sr. and Edna Jean Isbell; grandson, Brian Wayne Isbell; parents, Lonzo and Hester Frost Whitehead; brothers and sisters, Agnes Cagel, Junior Whitehead, Dock and Betty Quay Whitehead.
She was a member of Bethel Temple. Appreciation to Dr. Keith Morrow, Jean Hester, staff at Russellville Health Care, Burns Nursing Home and Good Samaritan Hospice.

Mary Ann Ford, 58, of Russellville passed away Dec. 26 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Visitation will be held Dec. 28 from noon to 1 p.m. at Bethsaida Baptist Church. The 1 p.m. memorial service will follow with Bro. Stanley Hargett officiating.
Burial will follow in Bethsaida Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Ford; daughter, Summer Ford; son, Jerry Ford and wife, Christi; daughter, Valerie Peer and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Brett, Alitha, Chase, KJ and two expected.
She was a amember of Bethsaida Baptist Church.
