Tuscaloosa man charged in stabbing

A man Tuscaloosa County man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in connection with the assault and robbery of a local person.
Marcus Jerome Wilson, 20, of 16521 Beams Road, Northport, was charged with attempted murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree assault, said Russellville Police Chief Chris Hargett.
Hargett said Wilson was picked up Wednesday and transported to Russellville.
Local warrants were issued Thursday.
Wilson is accused of attacking and robbing a 21-year-old man of $20 earlier this month.
Hargett said the victim, who lived on St. Claire Street, had been cut on the throat and had been stabbed more than dozen times in the chest and back.
The victim was eventually found in his car in front of the county jail.
