Hackers will highlight Tharptown fundraiser

Nashville Star will shine on Tharptown Nov. 17 as Angela Hacker and her brother, Zac, arrive for a one-night performance.
Angela Hacker was the winner of Nashville Star – a talent competition similar to American Idol for county artists – last season. Zac was runner up.
Angela is a 1996 graduate of Russellville High School, but the Hacker roots don't stop there.
"Zac actually went to Tharptown," Vice President of the Tharptown PTO and event organizer Charlotte Hatton said. "That's one reason he's so excited to get back here."
The other reason the Hackers are excited about coming back is that the proceeds from their performance will go toward the Tharptown playground.
Hatton said the school needed $25,000 and is currently $11,000 short.
"We got a grant for $14,000 and we've had some other fundraisers and donations, but we've still got a long way to go," she said.
Reserve tickets are $20 each and available at Tharptown School. General admission tickets are $15 and will be on sale at Citizens Bank locations beginning tomorrow.
Student tickets are $10 and are also available at the bank, and children ages four and under are free.
James LeBlanc will open the Hacker's show.
