Mary Ruth Spradlin, 77, of Phil Campbell, passed away Oct. 5, 2007. She was born in Winston County and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Funeral Services were held Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with John Stancil officiating. Burial followed in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Pat Bonner, Nancy Meyers, Ronnie Spradlin, Randy Spradlin and Connie Edwards; sisters, Elizabeth Kazer, Dena Taylor and Glenda Gable; seven grandchildren and three-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Spradlin; parents, Grady and Mittie Sutherland; sisters, Fayree Hamilton and Nell Alpine; brothers, Max, Leo and Lafayette Sutherland.
Della Ree Hulsey McKissack

Della Ree Hulsey McKissack, 80, of Haleyville passed away Oct. 6, 2007 at Lakeland Community Hospital. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 8, 2007 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Jones and Jeff Whitten officiating. Burial was in Winston County Memorial Cemetery. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Townsend Sparks and Kay (Eddy) Hyde; step-children, Ray (Elaine) McKissack and Clara (Charles) Tidwell; sisters, Agnes Raper and Maggie Yielding; six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arie Hulsey and Haskel McKissack; son, Ray Hulsey; grandson, Heath Hulsey and stepson, Billy McKissack.
Elvin Swinney

Elvin Swinney, 85, of Phil Campbell, died Oct. 6, 2007 at his home.
Mr. Swinney was a native of Franklin County and made his home in Pascagoula, Miss. for 25 years. After retiring from Pascagoula Fire Department he moved back to Franklin County. He attended the Baptist Church and was a member of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
Funeral services were held Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home with Bobby Poss officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Swinney, of Phil Campbell; children, Janice Brauer and Elvin Swinney, Jr., both of Rockford, Ill; step-children, Debbie Langley, of Elton, La., Patty Breedlove, of Phil Campbell, Charles English, of Pascagoula, Miss., Roberta Toft, Buffalo, S.D.; brothers, Ralph Swinney, of Plainwell, Mi., Taft Swinney, of New Site, Miss.; sisters, Betty Swinney, of Cicero, Ill., Bertie McCarley, of Cicero, Ill., Bertie McCarley, of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, William, Joseph and Amanda Brauer, Lisa Kiel, Gina Frontiero, Sara Johnson, Charles English, III, Austin English, Serena Toft, Lindsay Cook and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Irene Swinney.
Maggie Malone

Maggie Malone, 37, of Sheffield, died Oct. 8, 2007 at Helen Keller Hospital.
She was a native of Zion, Illinois but lived most of her life in Russellville. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville. Officiating will be Carl Gaston with burial to follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Survivors include her son, Justin Hall, of Bear Creek; grandfather, JW "Buddy" Malone of Russellville, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harlon and Betty Malone; grandmother, Pauline Malone; twin brother, Randall Ray Malone and sister, Jennifer Malone.
