Pauline Bennett, 82, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 at her home in Kenosha, Wis.
Born Oct. 9, 1924 in Russellville, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Mattie (Smith) Robinson.
Pauline began her working career as a welder during the depression in Mobile. She moved to Chicago in 1951 where she worked for the National Can Company for 25 years until her retirement. She returned home to Alabama until her illness worsened, and she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law (whom she loved like a son) in Kenosha in April 2007.
She was a farm girl with a big heart who loved to read and bake carrot and coconut cakes for her family. She and her late husband loved to travel and had visited much of the U.S. and Canada.
Survivors include one brother, James Robinson of Alabama; one son, William (Barbara) Yeager of Michigan; one daughter, Linda (Don) Loetz of Kenosha; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her caregiver of four years, Arlene Powers.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Peggy Yeager; one son, Ronald Yeager; husband, Hugh Bennett, as well as four brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Hansen-Lendman Funeral Home in Kenosha. A funeral service will be today at 11 a.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville. Burial will follow in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
