The Russellville Middle School football team held its annual black and white intrasquad game last Friday, and coach Larry Gilmer said he was pleased with the progress made by the Golden Tigers since last fall.
Gilmer said the primary objective he and his staff have at the spring game is finding out which players are best-suited for which positions.
Gilmer said the spring game also serves an instructional purpose.
Gilmer said he was pleased with the performance of several skill players, particularly quarterback Jake Ward, running back Evan Fergerson and wide receiver Hunter Thomas.
Last year was the first season that Russellville played a separate eighth-grade and seventh-grade schedule.
