    Clora Mae Brimer, Ruby Hyde Grant, William O. Holden, Georgia Ann Scott, Lewis D. Wilson

    Clora Mae Brimer, age 82, of Haleyville, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Lakeland Community Hospital.
    Mrs. Brimer was a lifetime resident of this area and a member of South Haleyville Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Ethel Clark; her husband, Kinley Brimer; a son, Larry Brimer; two brothers, Jock Clark and Garland Edward Clark; and a sister, Oray Crane.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at Pinkard Funeral Home with Royce Brimer and Vernie Brimer officiating. Interment was in Botush Cemetery.
    Mrs. Brimer is survived by two daughters, Trina Burleson of Haleyville and Shirley Baker of Bear Creek; three sisters, Kathleen Buesing of Texas, and Elder-Ree Clark and Mary Sue Clark, both of Nebraska; two brothers, Dee Clark of Illinois and Jimmy Lee Clark of Texas; ten grandchildren, Tony Hurt, Lisa Cooper, DeAnna Thomas, Regina Cleghorn, Kimberly Tittle, Sandra Pike, Michael Brimer, Timmy Brimer, Scott Brimer and Jeremy Brimer; thirteen great-grandchildren, April Holder, Dusty Haley, Chris Pike, Cory and Tina Yocum, Dillan Tittle, Jeffrey and Nikki Thomas, Casey Bonner, Blake, Levi and Austin Brimer, and Chance Hurt; and three great-great-grandchildren, Andrew Holder, and Farrah and Brooklyn Haley.
    Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.
    Ruby Hyde Grant, age 96, of Northport, passed away recently at DCH in Tuscaloosa.
    Mrs. Grant was a resident of Tuscaloosa for more than 70 years and a resident of Martinview Assisted Living in Northport since 1999. She was a descendant of General John Sevier, the only governor of the ill-fated State of Franklin, the first governor of Tennessee, and a military hero in the Battle of Kings Mountain during the Revolutionary War.
    Mrs. Grant was born April 18, 1908, in Russellville. She and her sister were reared by their grandparents, the late Thomas and Nancy Sevier Hyde, after their mother died when the girls were small children. In addition to the grandparents, a number of uncles and aunts, all living in Russellville, nurtured the young girls into adulthood. Mrs. Grant was the granddaughter of John Sevier.
    She for many years was an active member of the First Christian Church, then located at the corner of University Blvd. and Queen City Avenue. She was also active in school PTA project. In her later years, she greatly expanded her activities to include: Chief Tuskaloosa Chapter, NSDAR; R.E. Rhodes #64, UDC; Colonel George Reade Chapter, DAC; Alabama Society Dames of the Court of Honor; Alabama Branch of the Huguenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia; Susanna Pope Chapter, Colonial Dames XVII Century; Alabama Division of the National Society Magna Charta Dames and Barons; Alabama Society of the Sons and Daughters of Pilgrims; Sons and Daughters of the Colonial and Antebellum Bench and Bar; Family of Bruce Society in America; St. Andrews Society; Hera Study Club and the Tuscaloosa Music Club.
    Mrs. Grant was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Grant; and a sister, Adrienne Allen of Russellville.
    Graveside funeral services were held at Evergreen Cemetery with Heritage Chapel Funeral Home directing.
    Mrs. Grant is survived by a son, LTC. Donald P. Grant, Army-Ret., and wife Dawn, of Nashville; a daughter, Carolyn Grant Hanf and husband Peter, of Marietta, Georgia; two grandsons, Michael Grant, LTC., U.S. Army, and Donald P. Grant, Jr., of Nashville; two granddaughters, Linda Hanf Robinson of Bishopville, South Carolina, and Hayley Hanf Bradt of Marietta; a niece, Jane Ann Cooper of Russellville; and seven great-grandchildren.
    William O. Holden, age 74, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005.
    Rev. Holden graduated from the Baptist Bible College Seminary in Springfield, Missouri. He served as minister of music at Second Ave. Baptist Church in Birmingham, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Guin, minister of Avalon Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals, and most recently pastor of Markeeta Baptist Church of Moody. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cpl. during the Korean War. Mr. Holden was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Joan Holden; his parents, Clifton and Mary Holden; and a brother, C.E. Holden.
    Graveside funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Jonesboro Cemetery with Rev. Dan Nichols officiating.
    Mr. Holden is survived by his wife, Anne Holden; three children, Debby Stephens and husband Mike, Scott Holden and wife Vicki, and Kevin Holden and wife Michele; two grandsons, Scottie Dean Holden, II, and William Matthew Holden; two brothers, Sherman Holden and wife Deena, and Wallace Holden and wife Hazel; five sisters, Clara Nelson, Lanora McCarley, Gladdy Daiss and husband Al, Laverne McNatt and husband O'Neal, and Jean McNatt and husband George; and a host of nieces and nephews.
    Georgia Ann Scott, age 62, of Phil Campbell, passed away Monday, February 21, 2005.
    Mrs. Scott was a former employee of Wrangler and a member of Edgar's Chapel in Phil Campbell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Scott; a daughter, Mary Beth Scott; three brothers; a sister; and her parents, Noah and Nancy Crane.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, at Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Bray officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens.
    Pallbearers were Tim Hilliard, Dural Swinney, Sonny Scott, Dennis Crane, David Motes and Chris Crane.
    Mrs. Scott is survived by a son, Michael Baker of Douglasville, Georgia; two daughters, Becky McConville and husband David, of Douglasville, Georgia, and Valerie Edgar of Phil Campbell; a step-son, Eric Scott and wife Becky, of Birmingham; a step-daughter, Lisa Scott Bearden of Birmingham; two sisters, Jessie Hilliard and husband Jack, and Lavonia Hill and husband Clyde, both of Phil Campbell; a brother, Mickey Crane and wife Barbara, of Nauvoo; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
    Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
    Lewis D. Wilson, age 74, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2005.
    Mr. Wilson retired from the Shoals Community College and the Great Lake Steel Co. of Ecorse, Michigan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Muscle Shoals. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J.C., Herman and Billy Wilson; and a sister, Lola Mae Turzai.
    Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at Colbert Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jeff Noblit officiating. Interment was in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
    Pallbearers were members of Mr. Wilson's Sunday School class.
    Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 56 years, Geraldine (Gerri) Wilson; two sons, Steve Wilson and wife April, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Mark Wilson and wife Cindi, of Savannah, Tennessee; two daughters, Donna Jarnagin and husband John, of Decatur, and Debbie Mayfield and husband Roger, of Muscle Shoals; five sisters, Bernice Osborn of Florence, Inez McCurley of Bear Creek, Vivian Keelon of Russellville, Martha Wade of Phil Campbell and Hester Keelen of Merrillville, Indiana; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
    The family would like to express their sincere thanks for everyone's flowers, food, visits and prayers throughout our difficult time. A special thanks goes to the doctors and nurses at the Hartselle Medical Center and the New Day Clinic. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
    Colbert Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
