Brown to head county GOP

Sally Brown will head the Lauderdale County Republican Party for the next four years as its chairman.
Brown, elected chairman at a meeting of the Lauderdale County Republican Executive Committee on Thursday, has served the party in a variety of positions over the years.
Brown served as Lauderdale County chairman of Gov. Haley Barbour's 2003 gubernatorial campaign. She is a past president of the Republican Women's Club and is secretary of the Mississippi Republican Party State Executive Committee.
Besides electing Brown, the Lauderdale County Republican Executive Committee also chose other new officers: David Stevens, vice chairman; Betty Lou Jones, secretary; and Derek Glicco, treasurer.
The executive committee also added three at-large members: Jones, Craig Ziemba and state Rep. Greg Snowden. They will join 11 other members who were elected at the county Republican convention: Brown, Stevens, Glicco, Rick Barry, state Rep. Videt Carmichael, Jerry Creel, Gene Damon, Kris Gianakos, Felix Kay, Jimmy Slay and John Watts.
After electing officers, the following members were added to the general committee: Billy Allen, Vistan Allen, Bonnie Brown, Warren Brown, Billy Campbell, Brad Carter, Dee Carter, Joe Collins, Judy Collins, Sidney Covington, Joanne Entrekin, Emily Fair, John "Sonny" Johnson, Wayne Mangum, Annette Moore, Alberta Mosley, Dot Rayner, Cathy Reeves, Margaret Remy, Kelly Smith, Pepper Wiginton and Gene Young.
