David Young and Lynda Wemecke of Meridian announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Young, to Samuel Bennett, son of the Rev. Steve and Jenny Bennett of Vicksburg.
The wedding will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at 1 p.m. at Highland Baptist Church in Vicksburg.
Miss Young is the granddaughter of Martha Bowen of Vicksburg, the late Billy Moore of Shuqualak and the late Harold and Joy Young of Bowling Green, Ky. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Estelle Riddell formerly of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School and attended Meridian Community College and Hinds Community College.
She is employed by Southside Christian School and Wal-Mart in Vicksburg.
Mr. Bennett is the grandson of Carol Paxson of Memphis, Tenn., Sam Alexander of Little Rock, Ark., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bennett of New Albany.
The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Greenville Christian School and attended Northeast Community College in Booneville.
Mr. Bennett is employed by Southside Christian School and Wal-Mart in Vicksburg.
A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the ceremony.
Family and friends are invited to attend.
