CARTHAGE, Texas Graveside services for Vera Johnson Moffett were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Sandra Stackhouse officiating. Hawthorn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Moffett, 91, of Carthage, Texas, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, in Bossier City, La.
Survivors include her sisters, Wilma Smith and Delma Matlock, both of Carthage; step-children, Wilma Creel and her husband, Oren, of Washington, Ralph Moffett and his wife, Jennifer, of Toledo Bend, and Tommy Moffett and his wife, Mary Lou; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

UNION Services for Willis Charlie Goforth Jr. were to be held today at 10 a.m. at Rocky Hill Church of God with the Revs. Guy McGarrity and Jimmy Williams officiating. Burial was to be in the church cemetery. Milling Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goforth, 44, of Little Rock, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, in his home.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Goforth of Little Rock; sisters, Theresa Turbville and her husband, Willie, of Frazier Grove, Tina Geeseman and her husband, Tim, of Blue Springs, Mo., and Lynn Martin and her husband, Jeff, of Bailey; a brother, Dwight Goforth of Little Rock; nieces, Holly Turbville, Taylor Geeseman and Chloe Martin; nephews, Joshua Goforth, Timothy Geeseman, Tyler Geeseman, Shane Martin and Caleb Martin; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gus and Rennie Goforth, and Crongie and Margarette Sistrunk.
Pallbearers were Dwight Goforth, Jeff Martin, Caleb Martin, Willie Turbville, Byron Sistrunk and Jimmy Sistrunk.
QUITMAN Services for Dewey Lavoy Ivey will be held today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike DePhillips and Jimmy Sanders officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ivey, 78, of Quitman, died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Rush Foundation Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Doris M. Ivey; a son, Jerry Lewis and a sister, Inez O'Flynn, all of Quitman; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

QUITMAN Services for Hazel Maudine Smith Fleming will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Enterprise with the Revs. Buddy Petty and Roger Ivy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Wright's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fleming, 83, of Enterprise, died Sunday, March 7, 2004, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, a great mother and a beloved grandmother. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frankie Fleming; sons, Danny Smith of Rose Hill, Lewis Howard Smith Jr. and his wife, Jo, James Smith and his wife, Jean, and Lewis Ray Smith and his wife, Joyce, all of Enterprise; daughters, Marie Webster and her husband, Don, of Enterprise, Sylvia Rowell and her husband, Eddie, of Heidelberg, Barbara Varner and her husband, Joe, of Pachuta, Mary Smith of Enterprise and Bonnie Carlisle and her husband, Ricky, of Pachuta; 21 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Howard Smith; a grandson, James Christian Smith; a great-grandson, Mark Anthony Smith; a brother, Horace Langston; and sisters, Joyce James and S.A. Dawkins.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jamey Smith, Mark Smith, Jason Varner, Jessie Smith, Ed Smith and Josh Smith.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-9 p.m. at the church.
Arrangements were incomplete at James F. Webb Funeral Home for Charles F. Merz, 96, of Meridian, who died Saturday, March 6, 2004, at Riley Hospital.
