Scott Central falls to McAdams in quarterfinals

The Scott Central Lady Rebels saw their season end at home on Thursday night as McAdams took a 55-50 win in the quarterfinals of the Class 1A South State Tournament at Scott Central.
McAdams outscored the Lady Rebels 23-11 in the opening quarter and from that point on it was an uphill climb for Scott Central.
Elyse Clay led Scott Central with 15 points and Latasha Johnson added 12 points in the loss. Temisha Butler also chipped in with 10 points in the setback for Scott Central. Debra Brown led McAdams with a game-high 25 points and Ashton Washington added 16 points in the win for McAdams.
South Leake 63
Mize 48
South Leake advanced to the semifinals of the tournament by taking the win over the Lady Bulldogs by a 15-point margin.
South Leake took full control of the game in the second quarter by outscoring Mize 23-11 to take the huge lead for the rest of the night.
Tierra Young led the way with 25 points for South Leake and Kasenda Overstreet added 12 points in the win. Rose Mary Green led Mize with a team-high 17 points.
Sebastopol 56
Durant 44
Sebastopol also took a quarterfinal win by disposing of Durant by an eight-point final score. Tamikea Triplett led Sebastopol with 22 points and A.J. Johnson also added 15 points in the win. Monchel Howard led Durant with 29 points.
