Bond has been denied for a California woman who Meridian Police Department K-9 officers arrested on Monday and found with 4.5 kilos of cocaine stashed in the wheel well of her vehicle.
Detective Dean Harper, a Meridian Police Department spokesman, said a federal judge denied bond for Linda Lee Kirk, 31, of San Diego, Calif., who is charged with possession of more than a kilo of cocaine with intent to deliver and remains in a Madison County jail.
Harper said officers originally stopped Kirk for a traffic violation Monday morning in the eastbound lane of Interstate 20/59 in Meridian.
After a search of the vehicle, officers discovered the stashed cocaine, which has an estimated street value of more than $400,000. Harper said officers turned Kirk over to the U.S. Marshals, who transported her to Madison County.
