Lady Tigers smash Morton

The Lady Tigers outscored Morton 23-9 in the final quarter to roll to a division win against Morton.
Stacey Tate led Southeast Lauderdale with 23 points, and Sam Smith added 16.
The Lady Tigers (20-1) host Forest on Tuesday, with tip off set for 6 p.m.
Morton (boys) 62

The Tigers were unable to secure the sweep as the Panthers took a five-point decison thanks to a late run in the closing minutes.
Chris Gordon led Southeast Lauderdale with 14 points, and Lamar Crowell added 13 in the loss. Chris Lloyd led Morton with a game-high 17 points.
Quitman (boys) 79
N.E. Jones 65
Quitman took control of the game with a 20-11 run in the second quarter to secure a home-court win. Xavier Arrington led Quitman with 25 points and 10 rebounds, and Daniel Boyd chipped in 18 points.
Antoinne McKenzie pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds for Quitman. Quitman hosts West Lauderdale on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Choctaw (girls) 101
Newton Co. 74
The Lady Warriors continued its dominace on the hardwood by taking a convncing win over Newton County to push their record to 19-1 for the season.
Ashley Flant led the Choctaw Central attack with a team-high 26 points, and Chantay Frazier added 22. Andrea Dubose was the leading scorer for the Lady Cougars with a game-high 29 points in the setback.
Choctaw Central returns to action on Tuesday at home against Northeast Lauderdale. Newton County will travel to Morton on Tuesday for a divisional game.

The Warriors outscored the Cougars 26-13 in the fourth quaretr to take a one-point win over Newton County. Shawn Ahshpanek led the way with 21 pointsf for the Warriors, and Rochrick Anderson added 19. Greg Pruitt led the Cougars with 20 points.
Lamar (boys) 57
Copiah 36
Lamar School's Brandon Harrison recorded a double-double, notching 12 points and 10 rebounds, in the Raiders' win over Copiah Academy on Thursday.
Austin Roebuck tallied 10 points for Lamar, which improved its record to 12-6 with the win.
Wayne Aca. (boys) 60
Macon Ctrl. 19
Wayne Academy improved its record to 11-7 for the season with a blow-out win over Macon Central on Thursday.
Colby Beasley paced Wayne Academy's offense with 13 points, and Brett Coxwell scored 11 in the win. Wayne Academy didn't allow a single player on Macon Central to score in double digits.
SCA (girls) 35
Wilcox Academy 27
Southern Choctaw Academy used a late second quarter run to take an eight-point win over Wilcox. Chrisi Clark and Ashley Smith each scored 10 points for Southern Choctaw.
Southern Choctaw improved its record to 9-6 and 2-1 in division play wth the win and returns to action Tuesday at home against Clarke-Prep.
SCA (boys) 63
Wilcox Academy 53
The Southern Choctaw Academy boys made it a clean sweep with a 10-point win over Wilcox. Rob Dahlberg led the way with 17 points and pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds to go along with 10 assits.
Justin Mason chipped in with 16 points, and Joshua Adam scored 13 in the win. Southern Choctaw moved to 8-7 overall and 2-1 in divisional play.
Patrician (girls) 35
Clarke Prep 32
Patrician Academy moved to 12-6 and 3- 0 in division play with a three-point win over Clarke Prep. Kane Andrews led Patrician with 17 points, and Margot Etheridge added 11 points and 15 rebounds in the win. Patrician will host Wilcox Academy Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Brandon 1
The Lady Wildcats captured an important road win over Brandon to keep its playoff hopes alive on Friday night.
Kortney Harris scored both goals in the victory, as Meridian High moved to 13-6 for the season.
The Lady Wildcats will close out the season against Jackson Murrah in the road in another key divisional match.
West (girls) 7
Newton Co. 0
Kylie Rowell and Brittany Uhl tallied a pair of goals each for the West Lauderdale girls' soccer team in a divion win over Newton County on Thursday.
Rowell tallied the first goal of the game at the seven-minute mark off an assist from Uhl, who scored the second goal of the game with an assist from Morgan Gullette.
Rachel Reeves and Sarah Birmingham each tallied a goal in the opening half to give teh Lady Knights a 4-0 lead at the break. Uhl assited on Reeves goal, and Brooke Bounds picked up an assist on Birmingham's goal.
Kacy Covert finished the scoring for West, as the team improved its record to 5-0 in the division.
Katie Moulds picked up the shut out in net for the Lady Knights, notching four saves. West closes division play on the road against Clarkdale on Tuesday.
W.est (boys) 2
Newton Co. 1
Ross McWilliams erased a one-goal deficit early in the West Lauderdale Knights' contest against the Newton County Cougars on Thursday.
Zach Chisolm broke the one-goal tie in the second half for the Knights, and West goalkeepr Scott Truesdale, who made four saves, made sure the one-goal lead stood up for the win.
West improved to 6-0 in division play with the win.
Wayne County (boys) 2
South Jones 2
Wayne County got a pair of early goals but couldn't find a goal to avoid the tie with South Jones. Brandon Sellers collected a goal on a corner kick for the War Eagles, and Levi Pitts scored a goal on an assist by Breck Mills.
