West takes two on pitch from Southeast

Scott Truesdale recorded one save and Roger Walker stopped two shots for the West Lauderdale boys' soccer team, as the two Knight goalkeepers combined for a 3-0 shut out against Southeast Lauderdale on Tuesday.
West Lauderdale's Christopher Rodgers netted two goals in the win, scoring one goal off a penalty kick, and Zach Chisolm added a goal from an assist by Josh Herrington.
The Knights improved their record to 5-0 in division play with the win over the Tigers. West Lauderdale continues its season against Columbus at home on Friday.
Girls Soccer

Brittany Uhl and Kylie Rowell each recorded hat tricks for the West Lauderdale girls' soccer team on Tuesday to help defeat the Southeast Lauderdale Lady Tigers.
Uhl knocked in the first two goals in the division match, with assists coming from Sarah Birmingham, to take a 2-0 lead.
Southeast's Lindsay Graham reduced West' lead to one with the Lady Tigers' lone goal in the contest, but the Lady Knights quickly responded with a pair of goals from Rowell. Rachel Reeves and Birmingham assisted on Rowell's first two scores of the game.
Uhl picked up her third goal of the game before the end of the first half, and Auburn Carlberg gave the Lady Knights a 6-1 advantage entering the break scoring off an assist from Vanessa Uhl.
Rowell picked up her third goal of the game in the second half, and Carlberg netted another goal off an assist from Vanessa Uhl to increase West' lead to 8-1.
Brook Bounds and Casey Hedgepeth each added a goal for the Lady Knights, who improved to 4-0 in division play with the win.

Winston Academy 61
East Holmes 39
Winston Academy improved its record to 15-1 for the season with a win over East Holmes on Tuesday. Justin Eaves tallied a team-high 16 points for Winston Academy in the victory.
Bubba Horne paced East Holmes' offense with 13 points.
Heidelberg 80
Taylorsville 45
Jordan Payne scored a game-high 24 points to lead Heidelberg to victory over Taylorsville on Tuesday.
Shannon Jones added 13 points for Heidelberg, which evened its season record to 7-7, and Travis Stephens and Andre Stephens each added 10.
Reco Crosby scored a team-high 13 points for Taylorsville.
Union 66
Sebastopol 45
Anthony Johnson netted a game-high 28 points for Union in the team's win over Sebastopol on Tuesday. Union improved its record to 4-9 with the victory.
Alton Clark scored a team-high 15 for Sebastopol.
Newton County 54
Quitman 44
Craig Pruitt scored a game-high 15 points for Newton County, and Ricardo Alcantar added 14 in the squad's win over Quitman on Tuesday.
Willie Windham tallied 12 points for Newton County, which improved to 11-4 for the season with the victory.
Jackson Prep 73
Lamar 32
Lamar fell to 10-4 for the season with the team's loss to Jackson Prep (12-2) on Tuesday. David Haggard paced the Raiders' offense with 10 points.
Bob Corkman scored a game-high 14 points for Jackson Prep, and Jo Jo Tan and David Yerger added 12 and 10, respectively.
Bay Springs 70
NE Lauderdale 66
Harold Grace tallied a team-high 25 points for Northeast Lauderdale, but the team couldn't hang on for the win against Bay Springs on Tuesday.
Alex Ford scored 16 for Northeast, and Maurice Langston added 13 in the loss. Reggie Shellwood scored a game-high 27 points for Bay Springs, and Labarton Jones tallied 18.
Philadelphia 53
Lake 37
Bobby Goodin scored a game-high 16 points to lead Philadelphia (13-4) to victory over Lake on Tuesday. Trey Beamon tallied 14 points for Philadelphia, and John Williams added 10.
Sumter Academy 69
Patrician Academy 51
Three players scored in double figures as the homestanding Sumter Academy Eagles defeated Patrician Academy.
Michael Truelove led the Sumter Academy scoring trio with a game-high 25 points, while Chad Bryan had 14 and Jordy Hayden 11.
The Eagles led 22-11 at the end of the first quarter, 33-23 at halftime and 54-42 heading into the final period. Sumter Academy (6-7) travels to Pickens Academy Friday night.

Jackson Prep 69
Lamar 37
Laura Ann White scored a team-high 13 points for Lamar, and Cheryl Luquire added 11 in the team's loss to Jackson Prep.
Maribeth Willoughby notched a game-high 30 points for Jackson Prep (11-5) in the win.
Newton 72
Scott Central 59
Whitney Thames led Newton High School with 25 points in the squad's victory over Scott Central on Tuesday.
Tawayatha Evans and Rosalind Jones each tallied 13 points for Newton.
Elyse Clay scored a game-high 27 points for Scott Central, and Latasha Johnson added 17 in the loss.
Bay Springs 54
NE Lauderdale 44
Nadosha Strickland scored a game-high
26 points for Bay Springs, which kept its record perfect at 15-0, with a win over Northeast Lauderdale on Tuesday.
Shelonda Jackson scored a team-high 18 points for Northeast, and Shaquita Bell and Crystal Hopson each added 10 in the loss.
Winston Academy 40
Kirk Academy 26
Wiston Academy improved its record to 15-5 with a win over Kirk Academy on Tuesday.
Tracie Whiteside scored a game-high 17 points for Winston Academy, and Hope Estes added 10.
West Lowndes 68
Nanih Waiya 48
Heather Benson scored a game-high 20 points for West Lowndes (12-1) in the team's win over Nanih Waiya.
Ebony Evans tallied 12 points for West Lowndes, and Ashaki Moody and Shalonda Rogers each added 10.
Amber Eaves scored 13 points for Nanih Waiya, and Heather Steele added 12.
