Pickering announces firefighter grants

WASHINGTON U.S. Rep. Chip Pickering announced Wednesday that four fire departments in the 3rd Congressional District will receive more than $130,000 in grants.
Grants awarded include the following:
House Volunteer Fire Department. House, located in Neshoba County, will receive $31,913; the money is a Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Grant.
Hickory Volunteer Fire Department. Hickory, located in Newton County, will receive $38,412; the money is a Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Grant.
Brooksville Volunteer Fire Department. The city of Brooksville's department will receive $41,040; the money is a Fire Operations and Firefighter Safety Grant.
Three Mile Corner Volunteer Fire Department. Three Mile Corner, located in Kemper County, will receive $18,027; the money is for emergency medical services.
Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge praised the grants.
