Graveside services for Avie King Wilkins will be held today at 10 a.m. at Lynville Cemetery in Kemper County with the Rev. Jim Rickles officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wilkins, 93, of Meridian, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her daughter Margaret Pace; a granddaughter, Linda Beaver; great-grandchildren, Betty Faile, Margaret Samantha Hobson and Winton Beaver; great-great-grandchildren, Danielle Faile, Hunter Hobson and Dillon Faile; six nieces and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Wilkins; her mother, Mertis King; her father, Thaddeous King; and eight of her siblings.
Retired
Services for Charles "Bud" Adams Sr. will be held today at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Epi Rodgiguez officiating. Burial will be in Meridian Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Adams, 65, of Ocean Springs, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, in his home. He was a retired U.S. Air Force and civil service employee at Keesler Air Force Base. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Norma Jean Adams; a daughter, Diane Arledge and her husband, Steve, of Pace, Fla.; a son, Donald Adams Jr. of Ocean Springs; one grandson, Robbie Adams of Ocean Springs; one great-grandson, Kyle Adams; two brothers, Mack Adams and Kenneth Adams, both of Meridian; and several nieces, nephews, friends and a special friend, Marty Jones.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Kaye Adams; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Adams; and a sister, Florence Patton.
Pallbearers will be Dan Gibson, Richard Pope, Keith Hales, Mike Hales, Robert Sims and Marty Jones.
Retired office manager
Services for Margaret Danner Long will be held today at 2 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James. A. Ruffin officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mrs. Long, of Meridian, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Rush Foundation Hospital. She was retired as the office manager for Randall &Christian Insurance Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her nephews, T.E. "Ed" Allen of Meridian, Danner Null of Lauderdale, Thomas Danner Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Harvey Danner Jr. of Blowing Rock, N.C., Bill Short of Jackson, John Short of San Antonio, Texas, and Curtis Short of Orlando, Fla.; nieces, Ms. William L. Miller of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Mrs. Aaron Lowery of Louisville and Brenda Kirby of Tuscaloosa; a step daughter-in-law, Marion "Judy" Taylor Long of Meridian; and several great-nephews.

MACON Services for Kathy Simmonds will be held today at 2 p.m. at Independent Methodist Church with the Revs. Paul Brown and Doug Moore officiating. Burial will be in Mashulaville Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Simmonds, 49, of Macon, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her husband, Rick Simmonds of Macon; a daughter, Jodie Brown of Jackson; sons, Bill Simmonds and Tom Simmonds, both of Macon; her mother, Edna M. Golder of Greenville, Ill.; a brother, Jim Golder of Keysport, Ill.; and a sister, Paula Myers of Greenville.

QUITMAN Services for Arthur Given Duke will be held today at 2 p.m. at Wright's Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Gayle Pope and Rodney Ward officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Clarke County.
Mr. Duke, 81, of Vossburg, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, in his home. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and served in World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Duke and a son, David Duke, both of Vossburg; brothers, Marvin Duke of Mobile, Ala., and Archie Duke of Quitman; sisters, Helen Duke Davis of Galena Park, Texas, Mattie McKinley of Iowa City, Iowa, and Wilma Duke of Shubuta; and a grandson, Jeffery Scott Beene of Owasso, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Stiyf Duke; a daughter, Debbie Duke Beene; and a sister, Grace Fendley.
Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Jim Hearn, Leon Shirley, Harold Watson, Carl Hunter and Joe McLeod.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Stallings, Lavelle Griffin, Darryl Dedwylder, Jerry Stephens and Charles Zdenek.
Bus driver, mechanic
BUTLER, Ala. Services for Willie Earl Doggett will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at New Hope Church of God with the Revs. Jimmy Lloyd and James Irby officiating. Burial will be in Gilbertown City Cemetery with Bumpers Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Doggett, 97, of Butler, died Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Willow Trace Nursing Center.
Survivors include his daughters, Edna Harris of Florence, Estelle Boles of New Hebron, Vennie Lee McIlwain and Shirley Patrick of Gilbertown, Bernice Arrington of Millry, Deloris Gunn of Reynolds, Ga., Carolyn Cooper of Meridian, Ann Doggett of Needham, Marion Koon of Ward and Nelda Gay Cessna of Mesa, Ariz.; sons, Earl Doggett of Big Springs, Texas, and James Doggett of Needham; 36 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rena Mae Doggett; three daughters and five siblings.
Visitation will be today 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Beautician
MACON Services for Dolly Holley will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Brooksville Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Zgarba officiating. Burial will be in Brooksville Cemetery. Cockrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Holley, 64, of Brooksville, died Friday, June 13, 2003, in her home.
Survivors include her daughters, Margie C. Agnew of Scooba and Martha Bray of Laurel; sons, Billy Holley of Columbus and Russ Holley of Jackson; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and a sister, Annette Hadaway of Macon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Holley.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
