James Laster Jr.
Truck driver
Services for James "Snag" Laster Jr. will be held Saturday at noon at E.E. McDonald Community Chapel in Meridian with the Rev. Dr. S.L. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Daleville Cemetery with the E.E. McDonald Funeral Home of DeKalb in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Laster, 51, of Meridian, died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his daughter, Angela Green, sons, Eric Foster, Jamison Laster and Martez Laster, all of Meridian; sisters, Joyce Tyuse and Annette Tyuse, both of Meridian; a sister-in-law, Amada Foster of Monroe, La.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two children.
Visitation will be Friday 6 p.m.-7 p.m. at the community chapel in Meridian.
Hazel Bernice Allen
Retired
Services for Hazel Bernice Allen will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Wall officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Church of God Cemetery.
Mrs. Allen, 76, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was retired from Burnley Shirt Factor, a homemaker and member of Jones Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, James C. "Shorty" Allen; children, James C. Allen Jr., Sandra A. Hodgins and her husband, Gary, and Tawanna A. Wright and her husband, John, all of Meridian; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and a twin sister, Earline Clarice Cox of Meridian.
Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
Pallbearers will be Bud Thomas, Gary Hodgins, Tal Robinson, David Nance, James C. Allen Jr. and Terry Waddell.
Lillian Katherine Reaves

BUTLER, Ala. Services for Lillian Katherine Reaves will be held today at 2 p.m. at Bumpers Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Ed Rose and Terril Green officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Gilbertown.
Mrs. Reaves, 80, of Chickasaw, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at the University of Alabama Medical Center in Mobile.
Survivors include her sons, Donald W. Reaves and his wife, Helon, of Butler and Walter Herbert Reaves of Chickasaw; a daughter, Gilda Faye Reaves Middleton of Irvington, Ala.; brothers, Ernest Chappell of Yuma, Ariz., Aaron Chappell and his wife, Earline, Herbert Earl Chappell and his wife, Jeannette, all of Gilbertown, and Dennis Chappell and his wife, Sarah, of Chickasaw; sisters, Eula Jean Boykin and Coloen Gibson and her husband, Leo, all of Gilbertown, and Mable Kahalley and her husband, Joe, of Mobile, Ala.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Albert Chappell; her mother, Vivian Eudora Lolley; her husband, John Wallace Reaves; a brother, Byron "Billy" Chappell; and a sister, Mary Chappell.

Retired nurses aide with East Mississippi State Hospital
DEKALB Graveside services for Zoe M. Ranager will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Hull officiating. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Ranager, 82, of DeKalb, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Louise Ranager of Meridian; special caregivers, Jimmy and Pauline Darby; and several cousins.

Services for James Roy "Buddy" Thompson Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Barham Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Dabbs officiating. Burial will in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
