Smith, Whaley

Nancy and Jim Smith of Arlington, Texas, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Leanne, to Christopher Brian Whaley, both of Baton Rouge, La. Brian is the son of Pam and Steve Whaley of Quitman.
The couple plan to marry at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002, at University United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge.
Miss Smith is a graduate of Martin High School in Arlington and is completing her student teaching. She will graduate in December from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
Mr. Whaley is a graduate from Quitman High School and attended Jones Junior College in Ellisville. He is a graduate of Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La., and has a master's degree in aquiculture from Louisiana State University.
He is currently teaching and coaching at Dunham School in Baton Rouge.
