CLAUDIA S. PALMER
Retired
DEKALB Services for Claudia S. Palmer will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam J. Hull officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Palmer, 82, of Meridian, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2002, at Riley Hospital. She was a retired motel manager and a member of New Hope Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Ola Jarvis of DeKalb and Alva Swearingen of Meridian; two brothers, Chandler Swearingen of Meridian and Willard Swearingen of Fitzgerald, Ga.; and a stepdaughter, Nan Casciaro of Meridian.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Palmer.
Pallbearers will be Mark Swearingen, Scott Swearingen, George Robert Swearingen, Harvey Swearingen, Larry Swearingen and Homer Clay Swearingen.
Honorary pallbearer will be Billy Joe Hedgepeth.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
JOSEPH RENNA

PHILADELPHIA Services for Joseph Renna will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Renna, 88, of Philadelphia, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at the VA Medical Center in Jackson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Pearl Renna of Philadelphia; two sons, Leonard Renna of Leesburg, Fla., and Matthew Renna of Philadelphia; stepdaughters, Sue Wallace of Brandon, Jeanette Robideau of Houston, Texas, and Shirley Henderson of Mobile, Ala.; a sister, Betty Hearsum of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Phil Renna of Boca Raton, Fla.; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and 17 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna.
Visitation will be today 5 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
RICHARD MCCRORY

Graveside services for Richard McCrory will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery in Newton County. Stephens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McCrory, 42, of Pearl, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2002, at the University Medical Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Angelia McCrory of Whynot; and a son, Rubin H. McCrory of Toomsuba.
Visitation will be Thursday 1 p.m.-2:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
LEONA GRIGGS
Services for Leona Griggs will be held Thursday at 5 p.m. at Enterprise Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Griggs, 83, of Meridian, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, in her home. She was employed by Meridian Public Schools, RSVP and Foster Grandparents.
Survivors include two brothers, Jessie Rutledge and Artis Rutledge, both of Detroit, Mich.; two sisters, Mary Ophelia Houser of Detroit and Geneva Rutledge Willis of Cleveland, Ohio; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Griggs; and a son, John Redmond.
Visitation will be Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
ROY JAMES LANGDON

NEWTON Services for Roy James Langdon were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lin Chesney officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Langdon, 79, of Hickory, died Friday, Aug. 23, 2002, at the University Medical Center in Jackson. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Hickory Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughters, Barbara Faye Sanderson of Lawrence and Brenda O'Neal and her husband, James, of Hickory; a son, Roy R. Langdon of Lawrence; a brother, Joy Langdon of Meridian; a sister, Sybile Taylor of Saraland, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Artie Cape Langdon.
Pallbearers were Bob Warren, Joe Warren, Jack Dove, Kerry Benson, Harold Parnell and Stan Langdon.
