Teen charged in Meridian shooting

A 19-year-old man remained in jail today on a $30,000 bond after being charged in connection with a Friday afternoon shooting.
Meridian Police charged Larry May, 1721 11th Ave., with aggravated assault with a weapon. The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. on Seventh Avenue between 16th and 17th streets.
Detective Deano Harper, Meridian police spokesman, said a motorist found the wounded man and gave him a ride to Rush Foundation Hospital. The victim, who was not identified, sustained two non life-threatening wounds. He was treated and released.
