    Security guard
    Graveside services were to be held today at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with the Rev. Russell Luquire officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Ms. Perry, 57, of Enterprise, died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a security guard with Burlington Industries.
    Survivors include her son, Dwayne Perry of Stonewall; her daughter, Cynthia Marks and her husband, Gerald, of Enterprise; her mother, Hattie Brand of Collinsville; a brother, Jerry Brand and his wife, Melvin Ann, of Collinsville; a niece, Kelly Ivy of Stonewall;a nephew, Jeremy Brand of Collinsville; and a granddaughter, Tabitha Marks.
    She is preceded in death by her father, Udell Brand.
    The family requests memorials to be made to the American Cancer Society.
    VERMA VIRGINIA WARD
    Retired secretary
    Graveside services for Verma Virginia Ward will be held today at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. Thomas Parker officiating. Barham Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Ward, 80, of Meridian, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at Heartfelt Hospice. She was a retired secretary and member of State Boulevard Baptist Church and a retired state employee.
    Survivors include her husband, Howard Ward of Meridian; daughters, Pat Sudduth and her husband, Duff, of Madison, Deborah Price and her husband, Marty, of Meridian, Sheila Hudspeth and her husband, Allen, of Vicksburg; grandchildren, Ginna Sudduth, Dillon Sudduth, Ashley Knight, Kristen Price, Laura Hudspeth and Seth Hudspeth; her sister, Audrey Garcia of Conway, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Nancy Adelle Attaway, a brother, G.W. Attaway, and a grandson, Christopher Knight.
    The family requests memorials be made to Heartfelt Hospice or a favorite charity.
    Visitation will be today one hour prior to the service.
    Elsie B. Peterman
    Retired state employee
    Graveside services for Elsie B. Peterman will be held today at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Garratt officiating. James F. Webb Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mrs. Peterman, 81, of Meridian, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired employee of East Mississippi State Hospital. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
    Survivors include her sons, Wayne Garratt and his wife, Carolyn, of Meridian, Greg Garratt and his wife, Linda, of Pearl; daughters, Wanda McKenzie of Meridian, Debbi McKinney and her husband, Gerald, of Fort Mills, S.C.; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
    She is preceded in death by a son, Leroy Garratt.
    Visitation will be today 9 a.m.-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
    JAMES V. CARDEN JR.
    Retired engineer
    NEW ORLEANS Graveside services for James V. Carden Jr. will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery. Bultman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Carden, 65, of New Orleans, died Sunday, April 14, 2002. He was a native of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and a retired engineer with George Koch and Sons of Evansville, Ind., where he worked for more than 20 years. He was a graduate of Purdue University and did post graduate work at Auburn University. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was an airman first class. He was a board member for Mobile AIDS Support Services.
    Survivors include his companion, Dexter T. Fields of Slidell, La.; his mother, Leota B. Carden of Meridian; a brother, Leo Carden of Huntsville, Ala.; a son, Richard Carden of Milton, Fla.; a daughter, Donna C. Hollen of Foley, Ala.; and a nephew.
    He was preceded in death by his father, James V. Carden Sr.
    The family requests memorials be made to Bell Reve, 3027 Royal St. New Orleans, La. 70117.
    IRENE TURNER PRINCE
    JONESBORO, Ark. Irene Turner Prince died Thursday, April 11, 2002, at St. Bernard Hospital in Jonesboro. Burial was in Jonesboro Memorial Park.
    The Prince family lived in Meridian from 1956-62.
    Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Dr. Troy Prince, the former director of missions for the Lauderdale Baptist Association; daughters Berryl Seal and Deborah Baker; and a son, Dr. Michael Prince.
    JOHN W. BURRAGE
    Arrangements were incomplete at E.E. McDonald Funeral Home for John W. Burrage, 101, of Bailey, who died Sunday, April 14, 2002, in his home.
