Newton Theatre Company presents "Robin Hood"

From Sherwood Forest to Nottingham Castle, Robin Hood is coming to the stage of the Roxy Theater in Newton Thursday through Saturday.
The Youth Division of the Newton Theatre Company, under interim youth director Belinda Gilstrap, worked hard to bring this favorite legend to life. The cast and crew started this project in January.
The cast of characters in order of appearance are: Beth, a member of Robin Hood's Merry Band, played by Melanie Nelson of Newton; Mother Meg, another of Robin's band, played by Rachel McElhenney of Decatur; Little John, a faithful sidekick, played by Kaleb Collins of Union; Old Widow, a victim of the sheriff, played by Beth Alexander of Little Rock; Will Scarlet, another of Robin's faithful sidekicks, played by Aaron Scoggin of Decatur; Robin Hood, outlaw of Sherwood Forest, played by Caleb Page of Newton; Friar Tuck, another follower, played by Casey Henslee of Decatur; Soldier No. 1, in the service of the sheriff, played by Cedric Bender of Newton; the sheriff of Nottingham, played by Erik Winham of Little Rock; Lady Merle, in league with evil Prince John, played by Jessica Winham of Little Rock; Annabel, servant to Maid Marian, played by Mary Hickox of Decatur; Maid Marian, ward of King Richard, played by Ashley Nicholson of Chunky; Soldier No. 2 and Kaspar, also in the service of the sheriff, played by Colby Ezell of Decatur; the sheriff's wife, a clumsy social climber, played by Kate Mason of Newton; Salome, her silly daughter, played by Casey Rowzee of Newton; and the stranger/king journeying through Nottingham, played by Michael Dover of Hickory.
The Merry Band members are: Laura Alexander of Little Rock, Lee Ann Dawkins of Louin, Chelsy Ezell of Decatur, Ashley Anne Gressett of Conehatta, Makenzie Rowzee of Newton, Mary Anna Smith of Newton, Anna Williams of Newton and Anna Alexander of Little Rock.
Other soldiers are: Joshua Forrest of Decatur and William Alexander of Little Rock.
