Enterprise boys top Tigers

Enterprise and Southeast Lauderdale are familiar foes on the basketball court. On Friday night, Corey Boggan and his fellow Bulldog seniors wanted a win against the Tigers in the final meeting of the season between the two.
Boggan and his Bulldogs got their desire by beating Southeast 89-70 at Southeast. The loss makes up for a disappointing 12-point loss earlier this month in Enterprise at the Bulldog Round Robin.
Boggan hit his season average of 24 points. Johnson and Burns tallied 23 and 21 points respectively to give the Bulldogs a three-way punch.
Southeast won the girls' game 75-51 to move to 21-6 on the season.

Enterprise got off to a rip-roaring start with 23 points in the first quarter and 32 more in the second to go up 55-31 at the half.
Johnson, a 6-3 forward, was a key scoring 10 of his 23 points in the second quarter. He had two field goals and was 6-of-7 from the line. Boggan also had 10 points in the frame while Burns chipped in nine.
The only option for Southeast was Ben Reed who tossed in five three-pointers and had 17 of his game high 31 points in the first half.
The Bulldogs went up by as much as 27 points on two occassions, the last coming at 68-41 with four minutes left in the third. Southeast answered with its strongest run of the game outscoring Enterprise 12-1 to cut the deficit to 69-53 by the end of the quarter.
The Tigers would pull within 13 at 69-56 on a basket by Richard Harris. Boggan came back for Enterprise with two free throws.
Leading 79-64, Boggan essentially sealed the outcome when he tipped in a missed free throw to put the Bulldogs up 81-64.
Harris finished with 12 points for Southeast while Alex West had eight. The Tigers fall to 5-21 with the loss.
Don Moore added nine for Enterprise who improves to 10-13.

Nine Lady Tigers entered the scorebooks with six scoring at least seven points in taking the 75-51 romp.
Southeast moves to 21-6. The Lady Tigers were supposed to play in today's Broiler Classic at Forest but the team lost an opponent when Neshoba Central pulled out.
Samantha Smith paced Southeast with 23 points. Lesley Ruffin had nine followed by Ree Newell, Shalonda Mitchell and LaShonda Hall with eight points each.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to an 18-8 lead after one quarter. It was 42-26 at the half.
Enterprise pulled back to within 11 at 43-32 following a basket by Kaccy Jimmerson. Southeast responded with a 9-0 run to pretty much take care of matters. It was 55-36 after three quarters.
Teela McBride led Enterprise with 24 and Jimmerson had 16.
