Andrew Medley, a rising junior on the Ole Miss golf team, shot a 75-74-74-70293, to finish in the 13th spot at the 95th Southern Amateur over the weekend at Crown Colony Country Club in Lufkin, Texas.
Medley, formerly from Meridian, claimed the Eastern Amateur title on July 15 at Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club in Portsmouth, Va.
The win propelled Medley up from 280 to a tie for 71 in the Golfweek/Titleist Men's Amateur Rankings.
"This is a tremendous accomplishment for Andrew," said Ole Miss head golf coach Woody Cowart. "I hope this takes him to the next level with his play. The confidence he gained by winning the Eastern Amateur, and his solid performance in the Southern Amateur, will hopefully carry over to his collegiate play."
Medley notched a pair of top-10 finish this past season for the Rebels. He finished ninth in both the Ping-Arizona Intercollegiate and the Adam's Cup of Newport.
