    Anita Helena Salow, 85, of Red Bay died Friday, March 19, 2010 at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born January 4, 1925 in Chesaning, Mich. to William an Ruth Henry Deanhofer. She was formerly a resident of Ann Arbor, Mich. for 59 years and moved to Red Bay in 2007.
    Funeral services were held Monday, March 22, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro Nathan Davidson officiating.
    She is survived by husband of 62 years, Wilbur Salow of Red Bay; four children, David (Jo) Salow of Williamston, N.J., Marcy (Mike) Cavanaugh of Wellston, Mich., Dennis (Lauri) Salow of Vina, and Suzanne Brand of Red Bay; sisters, Darlene Henderson of Grand Black, Mich., Kathleen Knieper of Ann Arbor, Mary Carpenter of Georgia and Agnes Davis of Florida; brother, Bill Deanhofer of Ohio; 19 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by grandson, Doug Blankenship, and great-grandson, Andrew Cavanaugh.
    Johnny Taylor
    March 20, 2010
    Johnny D Taylor, Sr., 68, Russellville, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 20, 2010.
    The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010 Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro Mike Sparks and Vernon Keys. Interment will be at Dempsey Cemetery.
    He was born May 05, 1941 to Harry D. Taylor and Janie Elizabeth Johnson Taylor.
    He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patsy Higgins Taylor; son, Johnny D. Taylor II (wife, Angela); daughters, Vickie Black (husband, Danny), Kim Green (husband, Brett); 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Verna Hyde Bradley, Betty Freemon (husband, Cecil), Pat Williams (husband, Bill); and 28 nieces &nephews.
    Pallbearers will include son, Johnny Taylor II; grandsons, Cody Black, Trey Taylor, Sean Taylor, Dakota Crosslins; and nephews, Daniel Higgins, Brian Higgins, and Chris Higgins.
    Johnny will be remembered by many for his hard work and dedication to help others recover from alcohol and drug addiction. He was site manager at Sunrise Lodge and remained with Riverbend as an outpatient counselor until his retirement in 2009.
    Elise Mae Partain

    Elise Mae Partain, 84, of Phil Campbell passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born to Henry and Effie Mae Motes Partain on October 19, 1925.
    Visitation services were held form 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Akins Funeral Home.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, 2010 inside the funeral home chapel with Bro. Bobby Smith officiating. Burial was held at Blue Springs Cemetery.
    Pallbearers included grandsons and great grandsons
    Ms. Partain was preceded in death by her husband William Weeks; daughter, Phyllis Duncan; parents, Henry and Effie Mae Partain; brothers, Grady Partain and Travis “Shack” Partain; and three grandchildren.
    She is survived by children Dellion Weeks, Shirley Pace, Evelyn Duncan, Charles Weeks and Janice Vandiver; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
    She was a member of Blue Springs Freewill Baptist Church and will be missed.
    Pauline Edmond-Borden

    Pauline Edmond-Borden, 80, of Russellville passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at her residence surrounded by family. She was born in Colbert County to Henry and Emma Elizabeth Dedrick Brown on January 14, 1920.
    Visitation services were held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Akins Funeral Home.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 22, 2010 inside the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Callaway officiating. Burial was held at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
    Ms. Edmond-Borden was preceded in death by her first husband Odis E. Edmond; second husband, Morris “Skully” Borden; parents, Henry and Emma Brown; sisters, Mary O’Donald and Rosie Ayers; grandsons, Danny Edward Wallace, Elbert Glen Landers, Billy Joe Wallace and William Bryant Owens.
    She is survived by children Jewel Thrasher of Russellville; Gail Owens and husband, Randy of Jemison, AL; Carolyn Landers and husband, David, of Decaturville, TN; Marvin and wife, Lisa, Of Savannah, TN; Bille Edmonds of Athens; step-children, Katherine Hucaba, Morris “Buddy” Borden, Kenneth Borden, Sue Borden-Reese; sister, Ruby White and husband, Dillard; brother-in-laws, Hugh O’Donald and Roy Ayers; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
    She was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

    Command Sergeant Major Rex S. Martin, 82, passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in Itawamba County, Ms. to Jesse Benjamin Monroe and Lovie Wallace Martin on April 9, 1927.
    Visitation services were held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay.
    Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. on Thursday March 18, 2010 inside the chapel with Mike Deaton officiating. Burial was held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Red Bay.
    Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
    He is survived by his wife Elfriede Martin of Golden, Ms.; two sons, Harry Dean Martin of Meridian, Ms. and Barry Lane Martin and wife, Sally of Billings, Mt.; two grandchildren, Heather Martin and Stephanie Weisman and several nieces and nephews.
    Pallbearers were Donnis Martin, Nathan Martin, Lance Martin, Greg Davis, Martin Davis and Danny Chesnut.
    He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army after 28 years serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Fulton United Methodist Church and owner of Martin Reality in Fulton, Ms.

    Phillip Jr. “P.J.” Scott, 18, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Mississippi to John and Martha Stokes Scott on August 4, 1991 and was a junior at Red Bay High School.
    Visitation services were held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Deaton Funeral Home in Red Bay.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, 2010 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Belmont, Ms. with Dr. Rex Manasco, Bro. Barry Lofton and Bro. Jimmy Massey officiating. Burial was held at Ridge Cemetery in Golden, Ms.
    Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Phillip Stokes and Junior Scott; grandmother, Onesta Walton; uncle, Danny Scott
    He is survived by his mother Martha Stokes Morris and husband, Shelby, of Belmont, Ms.; father, John Scott and wife, Leshay, of Red Bay; son, Braylen Connor Scott of Red Bay; girlfriend, Gina Deaton of Red Bay; seven brothers, Andrew, John, Heath, Devon, Danny and Mathew Scott and Kerry Morris; three step-sisters, Katlin Norman, Brianna Morris and Shelly Morris; two grandmothers, Alice Stokes of Tishomingo, Ms. and Violet Lopez of Red Bay; uncle, Anthony Stokes and wife, Renee, of Fulton, Ms.; two aunts, Alicia Brown and husband, David, of Tupelo, Ms. and Shirley of Florida; a host of great-aunts, uncles and cousins.

    March 20, 2010
    Barbra Gail White, 59, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born to Buford and Doris Humphries Malone of Red Bay on July 13, 1950. She was a member of Red Bay Holy Church of Christ.
    Visitation services were held from 6 p.m. until service time on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Red Bay Holy Church of Christ.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at Red Bay Holy Church of Christ with Bro. Wayne Bumgart and Bro. Bobby Massey officiating. Burial was held at Halltown Cemetery.
    Ms. White was preceded in death by her father; brother, Phillip Malone; son-in-law, Michael Taylor; brother-in-law, Ralph Wood.
    She is survived by her husband of 42 years Kenneth E. White of Vina; four children, Wanda Boyd and husband, Kenneth of Burnout, Kim McDonald and husband, Richard, of Red Bay, Cindy Taylor of Albuquerque, NM. And Chris White of Vina; mother, Doris Malone of Red Bay; brothers, Elzie Malone and wife, Martha of Red Bay and Scotty Malone of Red Bay; sister, Nina Wood of Red Bay; nine grandchildren, Dustin Davidson, Kayla McDonald and Phillip McDonald of Red Bay, Corey Davidson and Randall Davidson of Albuquerque, NM., Christopher Boyd, Destiny Boyd, Montana Malone and Sarah Britton of Burnout; great grandson, Jordan McDonald of Red Bay; special cousins, Linda James, Kathy Coats and Bobby Massey; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
    Pallbearers were Jeremy Malone, Chad Malone, James Malone, Jesse Venable, Eli Venable, Dustin Davidson, Christopher Boyd and Phillip McDonald.
