Holiday closings

RUSSELLVILLE — Local schools, city halls and county offices are adjusting schedules this week in observance of Thanksgiving.

Both Russellville City Schools and Franklin County Schools are closed for the holiday.

Classes will not meet Nov. 24-28.

City halls in Red Bay, Vina, Phil Campbell, Hodges and Russellville are closed Nov. 27 and Nov. 28. Garbage service schedules vary by location.

In Red Bay, the usual Thursday route will run on Wednesday and the usual Friday route will run Dec. 1.

Red Bay will also collect debris from Dec. 1 through Dec. 5.

Garbage pickup in Vina, Phil Campbell and Hodges is not affected because those routes are handled by the county.

In Russellville, the garbage truck will run Nov. 28. No debris pickup is scheduled, according to city officials.

Franklin County offices are also closed Thursday and Friday.

The Franklin County Landfill will be closed Thursday but will reopen Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The landfill’s normal weekday hours are 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
