Windows Again serves community, offers variety of services
Pat Murray, owner of Windows Again, has long made it his business to know all about windows and a lot more. He lives in and is from Russellville. He’s married and has two children and four grandchildren.
Murray explained one driving force in what motivates him in his work is having a passion to “help people fix their problems and realize their design goals.” He said for him it’s about more than just running a business, it’s about enjoying the “challenge of it,” noting he keeps up with developments down through the years, along with liking the people he serves. “We meet some of the greatest people in this world,” he added, “and I have seen some of the most beautiful antiques you’ll ever see in your life. We have a really great attention to detail – you have to.”
He explained he got into this line of work “quite by accident” around 30 years ago. At the time, he was working for a company where he was selling building materials and one thing led to another.
From there, he and a partner opened their own vinyl siding company, which included selling windows, and the business “just kind of blossomed” into Murray owning his own window company, and he’s been in business with that for around 23 years and counting.
They offer replacement windows, siding and gutters, as well as kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, wood flooring, decks, fireplaces, mantels and stone. “We mainly do replace-ment vinyl windows,” explained Murray. “They have a lifetime glass breakage warranty, and we’re able to qualify with that for TVA EnergyRight.”
Murray said their services include “a number of different types of frames,” among them single hung, double hung, case-ments (windows that are hinged on one side and swing out like a door), sliders, awnings and coal windows.
Options include impact glass and hurricane glass, some of which he says can withstand up to 250 mile per hour winds. They also offer Low-emissivity glass – they have a film sprayed on the inside of the glass that adds a cooling effect in the summer and a warming effect in the winter, something Murray said is “very important in the South.”
“We do a little bit of everything these days,” Murray continued. “Windows and doors (not including garage doors), vinyl siding, gutters, leaf protection and remodeling.” On the remodeling side of things, they handle “a little bit of everything,” including additions, bathrooms, kitchens and more.
