Tharptown, Belgreen cruise to 2 wins each

Tharptown 8 Cherokee 4

The Tharptown Wildcats doubled up the Cherokee Indians 8-4. The Wildcats scored three in the first inning and four in the third.

Tharptown had six doubles in the game with Alyssa Fischer (2), Allie Gann (2), Cadence Kennedy, Paisleigh Carr and Gabi Johnson collecting the two-baggers. Gann had three RBIs and scored twice. Kennedy scored twice. Lexi Little had three hits and two RBIs.

Fischer got the win in the circle for the Wildcats.

Tharptown 4 Lamar County 1

Tharptown pounded out nine hits to beat the Lamar County Bulldogs 4-1. Six of those hits came from three players — Fischer (2), Kennedy (2), and Johnson (2).

Belgreen 8 E. Lawrence 6

The Belgreen Bulldogs came from behind to beat the East Lawrence Eagles 8-6. East Lawrence led Belgreen 2-0 through two innings. The Bulldogs scored three in the third and four in the fourth to take the win.

Belgreen had four players with two hits in the game — Jemma Moore, Marlie Terry, Kendra Williams, and Shaylyn Bryant. Bryant also scored three runs. Bryn Scott and Mackinley Hogan scored two runs each.

Zoey Blaxton got the win.

Belgreen 8 Cherokee 3

Belgreen opened the game with a six-run first inning and went on to cruise to the 8-3 win over the Cherokee Indians.

Scott had two hits and scored twice. Leah Blackburn scored twice.

Brooklyn McGaughy got the win striking out five and allowing just one run on five hits.
