RPD, FCSO compete in basketball game

RUSSELLVILLE — The fourth annual basketball game between the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Russellville Police Department took place Jan. 24 at the Bishop Center.

Community members watched as the RPD earned a 52-35 win over the FCSO.

“It’s fun getting to play against my friends from a different agency,” said RPD officer Derek Henderson, “and it’s a good way for all of the guys to bond with each other outside of work.”

Franklin County Sheriff Shannon Oliver described the event as “a fun night of basketball and friendly rivalry.”

He said events like this one “show strong teamwork and community spirit” between departments.
