Goodwin stepping down as Golden Tigers’ football coach

RUSSELLVILLE – Dustin Goodwin, who served as athletic director and head football coach, announced he is resigning his position to seek other opportunities, according to a statement released from the Russellville City School System on Friday.Goodwin was head coach for two seasons and amassed a 14-9 record with berths in the playoffs both years.

“We want to express our thanks to Coach Goodwin for the job he did her over the past two seasons,” Schools Superintendent Tim Guinn said in the statement. “We certainly wish him and his family all the best moving forward.”

Guinn said the school will begin an immediate search for the next head coach.

“There were many improvements made within the program and I believe we are in a position to attract a very talented pool of applicants,” Guinn said.
