Council purchases dress uniforms for Fire Department
PHIL CAMPBELL — Councilmembers have agreed to buy dress uniforms for the Fire Department at a cost of $200 each for an estimated 5 to 6 uniforms total, as well as a new police vehicle, a Ford Interceptor, for $54,000.
Mayor Eddie Marbutt said the Town of Littleville agreed to purchase a Police Department Tahoe the councilmembers recently approved to list as surplus.
The council also authorized the purchase of an identification card machine, a matter originally raised at the previous meeting as a potential purchase through the fire department.
After discussion with town clerk Virginia Burks, Marbutt recommended the machine be purchased by the town and housed at city hall. The council voted unanimously in favor. Marbutt said the total cost is $1,100.
