4 honored duringRHS Performing Arts Signing Day

RUSSELLVILLE – Four Russellville High School graduates were honored during the annual Performing Arts Signing Day.

Just as student-athletes commit to collegiate athletic programs, this event honors RHS students who have earned the opportunityto continue their artistic pursuits at the collegiate level in band, choir and musical theater.

The four seniors who signedletters of intent to perform with collegiatelevel ensemblesare:

• Madai Antonio Galvez committed to play in the Northwest Shoals Community College Jazz Band under the direction of GeorgeCrummie.

• Carolina Garcia and Bryan Ruiz both signed with the Northwest Shoals Community College Vocal Point Choir under the direction of JonathonRomero.

• Hailey Rogers will take the field as a majorette with the University of North Alabama Marching Pride under the direction of Dr. LloydE. Jones.

Familymembers, classmates and friends, as well as RHS faculty and staff, attended the event, includingJeremy Willis, RHS director of Bands; Macey Vandiver, RHS and RMS Choir director; Roxanne Gist and Jordan Shelton-Fish, RHS M100 Auxiliary sponsors; and Patrice Smith, RHS MusicalTheater director.

“This event is such a meaningfulway to recognize the hard work and talent of our student performers,” Vandiver said. “They’ve dedicated countless hours to their craft, and we’re excited to see them take the next Shown step.”
