Softball loses 3

Deshler hosted Russellville on Feb. 24 and no-hit the Lady Golden Tigers during a 12-0 win in a five-inning game. DHS scored three runs in the first inning, two in the third and seven in the fifth.

RHS went to Mississippi and participated in the Corinth Invitational, playing two games on Saturday.

The Lady Tigers fell to Itawamba Agricultural 3-0 in the first game of the day. The Indians held Russellville hitless during the six-inning contest.

Ticelee Gholston and Khristyan Huerta reached base via walks and Chloe James got on base due to an Itawamba fielding error. Gholston added a stolen base for Russellville. Jonalyn Thorn pitched for the Lady Golden Tigers.

Booneville defeated Russellville 6-1 in game two on Saturday for the Lady Golden Tigers. RHS had two hits during the five-inning contest. Bri McCulloch had a triple and scored Russellville’s first run of the season on a Gholston RBI groundout. James singled for the other RHS hit.

The Russellville defense committed five errors and Booneville had none. Suggs did the pitching for RHS.

Booneville scored four runs in the second inning and one each during the third and fourth frames.
