Tornado uprooted trees, scattered debris

The EF-2 tornado that passed through the Waco community Saturday night damaged a few homes, ripped apart and knocked down trees, and scattered all sorts of debris. Tharptown and Vina also reported minor damage, mostly from falling trees and tree limbs. The National Weather Service on Sunday reported there were five tornadoes across the state, with three of them touching down in northwest Alabama. Downtown Tuscumbia was hard hit by an EF-1 that knocked out power and damaged awnings and rooftops of businesses, and Rogersville got hit with an EF-1 that peeled a roof off a house and knocked down some trees.
