Red Bay tops Deshler, 83-75

The sharp shooting of the Red Bay Tigers from beyond the arc proved to be the difference as they defeated the Deshler Tigers 83-75 in a high-scoring contest.

Despite a strong start by Deshler, which led 22-20 at the end of the first quarter, Red Bay took control of the game in the second quarter and entered halftime with a 40-36 lead. They continued to build on their lead in the third quarter, extending it to 62-55.

Red Bay’s offensive attack was led by Khalil Luster, who scored 23 points, including 10 crucial points in the third quarter. Bryant Harris and Jeremiah Robinson each contributed 15 points, while Landyn Lewey added 11. Harris, Robinson and Lewey each sank three threepointers.

Other contributors for Red Bay included Jaxson Vinson with 8 points, Conner Humphries with 5, Brayden Tabbs with 3, and Jeremiah Thorne with 3.

Red Bay 49, Covenant Christian 45 In a crucial area matchup, the Red Bay Tigers emerged victorious over the Sulligent Blue Devils in a hard-fought 49-45 contest.

The game was a back-andforth affair, with neither team able to pull away decisively until the final minutes.

Red Bay jumped out to an early lead, finishing the first quarter ahead 18-15. However, Sulligent battled back in the second quarter to take a narrow 25-24 lead into halftime. The intensity continued into the third quarter, with both teams trading baskets and ultimately ending the period tied at 37-37.

The fourth quarter proved to be a nail-biter. Red Bay managed to edge ahead, thanks in part to clutch free-throw shooting from Jaxson Vinson, who connected on 5 of 6 attempts from the charity stripe.

Conner Humphries led the Red Bay scoring charge with 13 points, all of which came in the second half. Humphries’ hot hand included three crucial three-pointers that helped swing the momentum in Red Bay’s favor.

Khalil Luster contributed 12 points, with 10 of them cominig in the first half. Vinson finished with 11 points, his free throws proving vital down the stretch. Bryant Harris added 6 points, all in the first quarter, while Landyn Lewey, Brayden Tabbs and Jeremiah Thorne each chipped in with 3, 2, and 2 points, respectively.
