Phil Campbell rallies to beat Belgreen

In a game of dramatic swings and momentum shifts, the Phil Campbell Bobcats rallied from a significant halftime deficit to defeat the Belgreen Bulldogs and secure the season series.

The victory added another chapter to the rivalry with Phil Campbell having previously won in overtime at Belgreen earlier in the season, while Belgreen took the win in the Franklin County Tournament.

The game began with Belgreen asserting its dominance. The Bulldogs jumped out to a commanding 13-3 lead in the first quarter, setting the tone early. They continued to build on their advantage in the second quarter, extending their lead to a seemingly insurmountable 25-9 by halftime.

However, the second half told a completely different story. Phil Campbell emerged from the locker room with renewed energy and determination. The Bobcats’ defense tightened up, and their offense began to click. They outscored Belgreen 16-4 in a dominant third quarter, cutting the deficit significantly.

The comeback continued into the fourth quarter with Phil Campbell outscoring Belgreen 13-6. The Bobcats’ relentless pressure and timely baskets completed the turnaround allowing them to secure the victory and the season series.

Leela Baker led the charge for Phil Campbell with 10 points. Kaylie Motes contributed 9 points, while Sidda Rogers added 8. Macy Hardy chipped in with 7 points, and Mia Ambrosio rounded out the scoring with 2.

Dacota Green led Belgreen with a gamehigh 16 points. Lilliana Willingham added 6, while Carson Hovater scored 4. Bryn Scott contributed 3, and Randi Terry, Makenna Fisher, and Alayna Tate each added 2 points.

Phil Campbell 62, Phillips 34

Leela Baker scored 25 points to lead the Phil Campbell Bobcats past the Phillips Bears, 62-34.

Phil Campbell led Phillips 35-19 at the end of the first half and extended its lead to 52-27 by the end of the third quarter.

Macy Hardy followed Baker with 17 points and Kaylie Motes added 10 points. Chaley Bullington and Gracie Harris added 3 points each followed by Lexxie Santoni with 2 points and Mia Ambrosio with 1 point.
