Red Bay Tigers boys basketball team claims FC JV title

REDBAY–TheRedBay Tigers junior varsity boys basketball team delivered a dominant performance to capture the Franklin County Tournament championship, defeating the Belgreen Bulldogs in convincing fashion.

From the opening tip, the Tigers controlled the game, showcasing their offensive firepower and stifling defense.

Red Bay jumped out to an overwhelming 17-1 lead at the end of the first quarter, setting the tone for the rest of the game. They continued their strong play in the second quarter, outscoring Belgreen 9-8 to take a commanding 26-9 lead into halftime. The Tigers’ defense was particularly impressive, limiting the Bulldogs’ offensive opportunities.

The third quarter saw Red Bay put the game completely out of reach, holding Belgreen scoreless while adding 15 points of their own. This dominant stretch extended their lead to a formidable 41-9 heading into the final quarter.

Jaxson Swann led the charge for the Tigers, pouring in 17 points. Conner Nichols also reached double figures with 11 points. Carson Lindley contributed 8 points, while Karsyn Powell added 6. Davo Colburn scored 4 points, and Jayce Jackson, Colton Patterson, and Chaston Poores each chipped in with 3 points.

The Tigers’ sharp shooting was on full display as they connected on 8 three-pointers throughout the game.

Belgreen’s scoring was led by Carlos Alban with 9 points. Chris Bentley added 4 points, while Parker Morgan and Andrew Enriquez each contributed 2. Semifinals: Belgreen 44, Vina 19 The Belgreen Bulldogs dominated the Vina Red Devils from the start to advance to the finals of the tournament winning 44-19. Belgreen led 21-6 at the half.

Carlos Alban led Belgreen with 13 points followed by Chris Bentley with 12 points and Damien Deloa with 11 points.

Colton Davis led Vina with 8 points. Semifinals: Red Bay 53, Phil Campbell 26 Red Bay dominated Phil Campbell in the semifinals of the tournament to win 53-26. The Tigers led the Bobcats 28-12 at halftime.

Jaxson Swann led Red Bay with 11 points. Phil Campbell’s Body Flanagan led all scorers with 12 points.

Quarterfinals: Phil Campbell 39, Tharptown 24 Kye Baker led the Phil Campbell Bobcats with 23 points to lead his team to a 39-24 win over Tharptown.

Phil Campbell led Tharptown 26-9 at halftime.

Zach Riley led the Wildcats with 13 points.
