Franklin County Cattlemen’s Banquet Jan. 25 The Franklin County Cattlemen’s annual banquet is set for Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. at the A.W. Todd Centre in downtown Russellville. The guest speaker will be Secretary of State Wes Allen. Association members will come together for a meal, updates on the cattle industry, reports from officers and an awards presentation. For information on becoming a member or attending the banquet, visit the group’s Facebook page.

BTCPA’s “Moon Over Buffalo” Feb. 13-16 The Bay Tree Council for the Performing Arts in Red Bay will stage “Moon Over Buffalo” byKen Ludwig on Feb. 13-15 at 7 p.m. and on Feb.16 at 2 p.m. Play tickets are $10, and the meal is $20. Dinner is available for all performances and must be reserved in advance. The show is a revival production from around 15 years ago. For group sales, call Beth Hammock at 256-668-0045.

Fate has given actors one more shot at starring roles in “The Scarlet Pimpernel” epic, and director Frank Capra himself is enroute to Buffalo to catch their matinee performance. Will Charlotte Hay appear to run off with their agent? Will George Hay be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see Cyrano, Private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two? Hilarious misunderstandings pile on a madcap misadventure, all of which are magnified by Charlotte’s deaf mother who manages the theater. One critic says, “This plan is nothing less than a love letter to live theater.”
